Hello my darlings! Your TutuQueen is back with another blog post, this time fresh from the charming town of Caerphilly, Wales! 💅
I must confess, it’s been a while since I’ve graced a train carriage with my sparkly presence. The recent pandemic kept me nestled in my Derbyshire abode, but now, darling, I’m back and ready to unleash a wave of pink-tutu-wearing goodness across the country!
The journey to Caerphilly was a delightful one. I chose the train for this adventure, you know, for a touch of romance. The rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels on the track just makes me want to twirl!
The reason for my Caerphilly trip? A fabulous opportunity to perform my signature act, "Tutu Twirls & Dreams of Sugar Plums" at a fantastic outdoor fair in the heart of town! I felt such a sense of camaraderie with the locals, who were absolutely smitten with my dazzling ensemble (my bespoke pink-sequined tutu, of course!). They just loved it when I spun a little en pointe right there in the marketplace!
Now, darling, Caerphilly was so beautiful! There are rolling hills, a charming little castle with a history stretching back to 1080, and, let’s be honest, an endless supply of Welsh cakes - the perfect fuel for a tutu-clad adventurer like myself! I have to say, that visit to the Caerphilly Castle Museum truly impressed me, it was like stepping back in time! Those medieval knights and dames would have totally appreciated the dazzling array of tutus I carry with me (not to mention the extra sparkle I brought to the show!).
Ballet & Bonnets: A Love Affair With the Arts
Speaking of castles, darling, I can’t help but mention the magnificent castles here in Wales. I felt a pang of nostalgia remembering the grand Victorian Theatre here that has recently reopened - it's been completely refurbished and, oh darling, what a transformation! It practically whispers with 'ballet dreams' (especially to someone with a heart as devoted to tutus as mine!). The whole town is bursting with charm and creativity. There’s even an annual summer ballet festival! The mere thought of twirling my tutu in the heart of a magical Welsh performance brings tears of joy to my eyes.
You see, darling, it’s this magical world of dance that ignited my passion for pink tutus. While studying science at university (I know, a scientific mind trapped in a sequined tutu! What a contradiction!), I stumbled upon the ballet club and fell head over heels for it. We had a fundraising event for charity where they were selling second-hand clothes to raise money for a local theatre production, and poof! There it was. My pink tutu soulmate. From that moment, the tutu became my calling card and the ultimate symbol of expressing my inner light, fun, and just, pure joy.
It's been a thrilling journey since then! This scientist, this tutu-wearing queen, spreading glitter and twirls, performing my show to anyone willing to be mesmerised by my artistry. I've danced my way through fairs, town festivals, village halls, even that slightly less-than-luxurious 'glamour bus' (where we definitely didn’t need to ask, "Is the chicken pre-cooked?"). But that's part of the fun, darling!
My Pink Tutu Mission
And my dearest darlings, it’s more than just about the tutus. I aim to inspire, to make people laugh, to give them the confidence to wear a splash of colour and stand out, to celebrate the diversity of our world and the incredible magic of life itself!
Because, darling, you can wear pink and sequins and still be smart, witty, strong, and empowered.
You don’t have to be confined to the norms. Life is far too short for bland colour schemes and conformity. I firmly believe that everyone should experience the freedom, the exuberance, the pure, unadulterated JOY that comes with a fabulous, pink, glittery tutu.
So, here's my call to action! Step into your own personal sparkle zone and get a pink tutu, darling! You’ll be amazed at how empowering it is. It'll let your true inner queen shine, my lovely. Trust me, it’ll make you twirl a little higher!

And when you’re out in the world, you will know if I’ve passed through a town! Because a trail of sparkly pink will follow me wherever I go… Just wait and see, darling.
