Hello my gorgeous darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and boy, oh boy, have I got a tale to tell!
This week, I ventured up to Aberdeen, the Granite City! Now, let me tell you, getting there was an experience in itself. I decided to ditch the stuffy train this time, instead opting for a wild horse-drawn carriage journey – yes, you heard right! A true Downton Abbey moment. Imagine me, in a floor-length hot pink tulle masterpiece, gracefully waltzing through the countryside, with the wind whipping my tulle and a chorus of neighs for background music. Absolutely divine!
Aberdeen greeted me with open arms (and possibly some slight drizzle, but that just added to the drama!). It's a city with such a strong, charming character - think cobblestone streets, magnificent granite architecture, and a sea breeze that dances with your pink feathers.
Of course, I wouldn't be Pink Tutu Sparkles without some sparkly shopping adventures. Aberdeen has a truly unique and vibrant scene! From vintage boutiques brimming with shimmering silk gowns, perfect for a Strictly dance night, to quirky indie shops overflowing with flamboyant hats and headbands that scream "pink tutu queen!" It's a wonderland of colours, fabrics and sparkle – and I had to have a little browse. You know, just to stock up for the summer tour!
And what’s a visit to Aberdeen without a dance or two? It's a city that embraces performance and art, with its own stunning theatre - the Aberdeen Arts Centre, where I took in a magnificent ballet performance. The talent on display was breathtaking. The ballerinas twirling with such grace, their pointe shoes clicking rhythmically on the stage...it made me feel a little too inspired! Suddenly, all I wanted to do was don my tutu and dance across the stage! I know, I know, you're all rolling your eyes right now - Pink Tutu Sparkles with delusions of grandeur.
But, my dears, the theatre's not the only place to unleash your inner dance diva in Aberdeen! One of my highlights of the trip was a magical evening spent at a Ballet Street studio - you wouldn’t believe how fabulous these classes are! They offered something for every level, from those graceful newbies to seasoned pirouette pro's, and everyone was so welcoming. I even managed to whip up a bit of a Tutu Twirl Workshop – it was such a blast teaching these talented dancers some signature Pink Tutu Sparkles moves! You should've seen the faces! A sea of wonder, admiration, and some serious tutus!
But it wasn’t all sequins and pirouettes, you know! Aberdeen's food scene was incredible. From fresh, juicy oysters plucked straight from the sea to comforting Scottish fare, and let's not forget those delicious afternoon tea experiences (with pink sprinkles of course)! It’s enough to make even the most disciplined tutu queen splurge a little.
Now, my darlings, let's chat about the real reason I ventured north: To inspire a nation to embrace the pink tutu, one city at a time.
You see, my life as Pink Tutu Sparkles isn't just about sparkly outfits and extravagant performances - it's about confidence, self-expression, and joy. A pink tutu can be whatever you want it to be, my darlings. It's a symbol of bravery, a statement of self-love, a little splash of pink in a world that can sometimes be too serious!
In Aberdeen, I saw smiles so bright and faces filled with laughter. People looked at me with curiosity and wonder, and some even felt the pink tutu calling! I truly believe that when you step into a pink tutu, you unlock a magical side of yourself. It allows you to be silly, daring, and embrace life's beautiful messiness!
So, I challenge you all: Wear a pink tutu. Maybe just for a day. Let the world see your pink tutu sparkle, let it ignite the inner joy that's hidden deep inside! And when you do, send me a picture!
