Stratford-Upon-Avon: A Tutu Dream Come True! (Blog Post #908)

Oh darling, hello from the gorgeous, Shakespearean town of Stratford-Upon-Avon! As you all know, your TutuQueen is a massive theatre buff, and I’ve been positively buzzing with excitement to be performing here. I absolutely adore this town, and the historical magic it radiates just makes everything sparkle even brighter. Honestly, darling, it’s practically pink-tutu heaven!

This trip’s been a bit different to my usual jaunts. It wasn’t just a weekend flit about, this time I've been staying a little longer, indulging my theatrical side with a few trips to the Royal Shakespeare Company! It's not just a theatre company, darling, it’s an institution – the birthplace of the Bard himself! To actually step onto those historical grounds
 sigh
my heart just about exploded with excitement.

The show I saw? Hamlet, darling, the classic tragedy. But, of course, I had to put my own spin on it. My fabulous pink tutu shimmered like a spotlight in the dark theatre. I swear I could hear whispers in the audience of “That's the most divine pink tutu I've ever seen!” It’s just as well that Hamlet is about theatricality, because it was all about me, darling, I mean, my tutu!

The Royal Shakespeare Company itself, now there’s a treasure trove of dazzling history. The actors, the sets, the costumes – it was like a ballet scene, truly. The sheer dedication to their craft is inspiring, just like the devotion to colour and creativity. Every performance is a masterpiece of artistic talent.

But before you think I’m just going on about theatre, darling, you know my heart belongs to the ballet! Stratford-Upon-Avon has a fantastic ballet school called The Dance Academy, where I took a fabulous class. All pink tutu-clad, darling, of course. Just as I was about to leap into a glorious fouettĂ©, I saw someone who looked just like me, all dressed in a shimmering pink tutu and a big, dazzling smile. We immediately recognised each other, as sisters in tulle, you might say. This beautiful dancer, let's call her Willow, was just starting out and she confided in me her hopes to dance professionally. It filled me with such joy! To see a new generation embracing their dreams, especially through ballet, gave me the warm fuzzies that are usually reserved for a brand-new, oversized pink tutu.

Naturally, I'm also shopping, darling! What else would you expect? After all, how else am I to stay up to date with the latest trends, you know, for all of you aspiring TutuQueens! The town itself is a dream. Quaint shops overflowing with antique trinkets and charming tea rooms spilling with delicious homemade cakes. My love for all things vintage was completely satisfied – perfect for a fabulous pink tutu outing!

It wouldn't be a TutuQueen blog post without a delicious, and I mean absolutely delicious, culinary experience. One of my favourite little discoveries in Stratford-Upon-Avon was this charming cafĂ©. They call it "The Buttercup" but I'd rename it "Tutu Queen's Delight" because, well, their strawberry cake, served with a perfectly brewed cup of Earl Grey tea? It was divine. All that dancing, sightseeing, and theatre takes its toll, so you’ve gotta have a sugar rush!

Now, I wouldn’t leave this delightful town without a tip or two, would I? I always encourage all you aspiring TutuQueens to hop on a train – it’s an adventure in itself. Soaking up the scenery, people-watching, and listening to the world rush by through the window. There's just something incredibly charming about train travel! It's the perfect way to embrace the journey and enjoy the ride. Speaking of journeys, my next one, darling, involves a horse! That’s right, a proper horse-drawn carriage. Oh, it's an absolutely charming experience that perfectly embodies Stratford-Upon-Avon’s timeless elegance.

Finally, my dearest TutuQueens, Stratford-Upon-Avon is a dream destination. It's a mix of historic charm, vibrant art scene, and of course, delicious delights, perfect for a TutuQueen. And I haven't even talked about the River Avon – with swans swimming by, what's not to love? Honestly, my dears, it's a little piece of pink-tutu heaven!

So, if you’re ever in the mood for a whimsical escapade, I highly recommend hopping on a train and heading to this enchanting town. As I always say, you’re only one pink tutu away from pure magic! And you know, maybe, just maybe, when you arrive you'll feel just like you’re starring in your own Shakespearean masterpiece – all because you dared to embrace your own pink-tutu queen power.

Until next time, darling!
