Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another thrilling travel blog post, fresh from a whirlwind adventure to the magical land of… East Ham! Can you believe it? 😱 I've never been so far east in London before, and let me tell you, it was a hoot! 😄
Firstly, let’s talk about the journey. I just had to take the train, of course! The rhythmic clickety-clack of the tracks always puts me in the mood for a grand adventure, and you can bet I was rocking my signature pink tutu on board! 💕 It was quite a sight, people definitely stopped to admire my shimmering tulle, some even taking a quick pic – wouldn't want to miss the chance to get a peek of Pink Tutu Sparkles, would they? 😉
Now, the highlight of this trip – East Ham, the home of history, the East London Theatre and… believe it or not, the East Ham Ballet Academy! You could have knocked me over with a feather when I stumbled upon this hidden gem, all sparkly pink with fluffy tutus lining the windows – it was like a dream come true! ✨ I absolutely had to pop in, even though I’d already done a full day of ballet at the East London Theatre, you see. Always good to squeeze in some extra plies and fouettés! Turns out, they have a beginners class in their very own pink-hued performance space… perfect for a little practice session, if I do say so myself. 💖
Speaking of the theatre, it was a treat for the senses! Such beautiful Victorian architecture, complete with chandeliers that were practically twinkling with my very own name on them, Pink Tutu Sparkles! 😄 We watched a delightful performance of "The Nutcracker" which transported us all straight into a world of magic and wonder. After the show, I met with the ballet director, such a lovely lady who told me about how she fell in love with the beauty of ballet during a performance of “Swan Lake” - can’t get enough of that ballet. We shared stories, reminisced about tutus (my favourite topic, of course!) and swapped ideas for future performances - there may just be a Pink Tutu Sparkles collaboration with this theatre happening in the future, fingers crossed! ✨
Of course, no journey to a new place would be complete without a spot of retail therapy! We found this charming little boutique, right by the local train station – they had some lovely shoes, and wouldn't you know it, a magnificent collection of pink tutus! Oh, I was so excited! They even had a tutu specially designed for a dragon – think hot pink and metallic gold, how perfectly fabulous was that? I picked out the most exquisite sequined tutu, perfect for my next big performance. And naturally, a new pair of pointe shoes! 😉
Oh! Can’t forget the yummy treats at the East Ham Tea Shop! After all, you can’t travel around like Pink Tutu Sparkles without staying fuelled on sweet treats. Think: lemon meringue pie, scones, and a piping hot cuppa with a generous helping of clotted cream. If you ever find yourself in this magical corner of London, you simply must try it! 💖
Overall, my adventure to East Ham was absolutely dazzling! It was so much fun to explore a new place and meet such friendly faces – not to mention the delightful ballet academy, a theatre that made my heart sing, and some spectacular new tutu additions for my wardrobe!
