Wigston Magna: Tutu Time in the Midlands! πŸ’–πŸ©°

Helloooo my lovely little Tutu Queens! πŸ‘‹

It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, back with another fabulous blog post! I'm bursting at the seams with excitement about this trip, it's been a total dream come true, a truly enchanting adventure! It's post number 2016 for me, can you believe it? 🀯

This week I travelled all the way to Wigston Magna, nestled right in the heart of the East Midlands, and oh my darling, let me tell you, this town has magic written all over it! πŸ’–πŸŒŸ

It's not every day you get to take your show on the road, so I was buzzing with excitement, I can't deny it. A few weeks ago, I got a message from the local arts center asking if I would consider performing at their upcoming "Twinkle, Twinkle" festival, and of course I jumped at the chance! It was going to be my first time performing in the Midlands and I was a little apprehensive (can you imagine not being in a county starting with a "D"?) but I knew this was my calling.

The journey began...

You see, the thrill of travelling is an essential part of the experience for me. I'm absolutely smitten with train journeys. The rhythmic chug of the train, the scenery flying past the window, and that gorgeous feeling of freedom… ah, it's a dream! This time, it was a quick trip on the train down from Derbyshire, a scenic ride through the gorgeous green English countryside.

And then... the costumes! πŸ‘—βœ¨

You know me, a good performer has got to have fabulous outfits and accessories! My wardrobe is literally bursting with dazzling outfits and I spent an afternoon just deciding which ones to take! Wigston Magna, darling, I arrived in style, my sequined pink dress positively glittering, my matching heels, a pair of hot pink platforms (what else!), and, of course, the most stunning pink tulle tutu you’ve ever seen. I mean, we've all got to make a statement, right? πŸ˜‰

Ready, set, perform!

The show was held in the beautiful, old-fashioned theater at the heart of town, a true architectural gem with its red velvet seats, sparkling chandeliers, and intricate ornate details. It truly felt like I had been transported to a different era, the kind of theatre you see in films! πŸ’–πŸŽ

The performance was fantastic! The audience were wonderful, the whole venue was buzzing with positive energy. We had such a fabulous time and I really felt that my message of "wear a pink tutu, be yourself and sparkle" truly resonated with everyone. πŸ’–πŸŒŸ

Meeting my Tutu Queens! ✨

It was after the show that things truly got magical! People came to say hello, the girls at the theater who organized the show came to share their love for the performance (you have no idea what it does to a girl to see those sparkles in their eyes, just for her), but the most incredible part was a little girl who came up to me, bright eyed, clutching her own pink tutu! She'd clearly seen me and been inspired! 😭πŸ₯°

This is what it’s all about, darling, making those connections with people. It was just as thrilling as a dazzling curtain call and it gave me that warmth inside. You truly have no idea, that's why this blog exists!

After the Show... πŸ’–πŸ©°

That evening, I felt a strong desire to just unwind and take it all in. This little town had given me such energy that I wasn’t even tired from the show! So I found a beautiful tea room with flower patterned cups and tea that was like sipping a fluffy cloud! (Don't judge me for ordering a slice of the enormous Victoria Sponge, this was an adventure remember! πŸ’–).

It truly reminded me of those moments from childhood spent with my Granny, who made all the amazing cakes (and gave me a taste of fashion!) when I was growing up back in Derbyshire. She always told me I would achieve something spectacular one day, but I always thought it meant becoming a scientist! What she probably really meant was, of course, the life of a drag queen, and how I would become an amazing performer inspiring others. She truly was ahead of her time.

I must also say, how could I forget, Wigston Magna had this wonderful, antique bookstore, filled with such amazing smells! There were old leather books, dust-covered tomes, and bookshop signs like "For all those who want to read..." ( I should make one of those for the blog and change the 'r' to 't'!). I almost forgot to visit it, in fact I went just before getting my delicious dinner at the local pub (always have to go traditional you know!), I grabbed myself a book and a new scarf, which, if I do say so myself, looked fantastic against my pink outfit! It’s something for my little collection of vintage scarves back in the flat. You just never know what treasures you can find.

Time to say goodbye, my dear Tutu Queens! πŸ‘‹βœ¨

Wigston Magna was everything I had hoped for, and more! It's one of those experiences that remind you that it's all about connecting with people, creating a bit of magic, and of course, making the world a little bit more pink.

But that’s all for now. I have so many stories to tell from this week, there simply isn’t space here! Stay tuned to www.pink-tutu.com and you can check my full album and tour dates here on the site, all my past adventures, the ones you know nothing about, all in one place! πŸ˜‰

I'll leave you with a little something to ponder:

"What are your tutu dreams?" πŸ’

Tell me all about your dream outfit, what location you’d want to perform at, the song that’d be your anthem and more in the comments below! I’m dying to know and remember, if it’s big, bold and pink, it’s a win. πŸ’…

Sending all my sparkle and love,

Your Pink Tutu Sparkles!πŸ’–πŸ©°
