Bulwell, Here I Come! (Post #2806)
Hello darlings, itās Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another dazzlingly pink blog post for you! As you know, Iām all about spreading the joy and the sparkle, and this week, that joy is taking me all the way to Bulwell!
Ooh, the excitement! Itās been a whirlwind of pink feather boas, sequins, and train journeys (oh how I do love a good train journey, especially when Iām all dolled up!) but Iām absolutely bursting with excitement to grace Bulwell with my presence. And by "grace", of course I mean unleash a storm of pink tutus and sparkling joy!
I always love performing in new places and Bulwell, with its vibrant energy and warm welcoming hearts, sounds just the place to bring a little Pink Tutu Sparkles magic. Itās always so rewarding to see people's faces light up when they see my pink tutus swirling and shimmering. After all, it's all about spreading the love of twirling, the delight of sparkle, and the ultimate message of āItās OK to wear pink! Embrace the tutu, and the fabulous!ā
So, how did a Derbyshire lad like myself become the fabulously pink queen that you all know and love? It's quite the story, really. Letās rewind to universityā¦ Now, imagine me, fresh-faced, full of scientific dreams (and dreams of twirling!), studying a science degree in my sensible lab coat. Yep, thatās me, the "future of science", as they used to call me, spending my days dissecting cells and my evenings, ahem, learning to dance in a pink tutu.
It all began with the university ballet club, where a mischievous friend challenged me to try on a pink tutu for charity. The moment that silky tulle touched my skin, it was a life-altering revelation. The spark of Pink Tutu Sparkles ignited. I was in love, with ballet, with pink, and with the idea of taking on the world in a fabulously feminine way. I can still see myself in that tutu, grinning from ear to ear, feeling the power of being pink. From that moment on, the lab felt a bit lessā¦ captivating.
After graduation, it was a difficult choice, but I knew in my heart what I had to do. I spent hours after my lab shifts, transforming myself from lab coat to a tutu. From the start, there was something truly liberating about embracing that "extra" in life.
Over the past few years, it's been an incredible journey ā Iāve danced my way through local pubs and fairs, spreading glitter and smiles all over Derbyshire. My dream is to get everyone twirling in pink! And of course, every fabulous Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure has its highlights! From being interviewed on a local radio show to getting my first gig at a local theatre, and my ultimate triumph - leading the local dance troupe in a ballet version of āA Midsummer Nightās Dream!ā
Honestly, I donāt think my scientific mind could ever come up with a hypothesis as exciting and fulfilling as performing in a pink tutu! Itās an instant rush of colour and happiness, a moment of shared joy that washes away stress and fills you with the ultimate feeling of love for all things pink. And donāt even get me started on the costumes! From the intricate hand-sewn beaded designs, to the glittery pink tiaras, to those fabulous feathery boas that tickle your cheeks as you twirlā¦ itās truly an art form, an explosion of creativity and joy.
And that brings us to today's performance! I'm planning something special for my audience in Bulwell - imagine a sparkly, tutu-filled whirlwind of joy! I've got a whole repertoire of choreographed routines ā everything from playful ballet inspired dance numbers to crowd-pleasing, high-energy pop performances, and of course, plenty of opportunity for the audience to get involved in the pinkness! Youāll be twirling along with me, I can promise you that!
If youāre a fan of dazzlingly pink tutus, I hope to see you in the audience ā after all, thereās nothing quite like the magic of a Pink Tutu Sparkles performance to uplift your spirits!
For those of you who donāt know, Bulwell holds a special place in my heart, especially with its history in lacemaking - the perfect match to the delicate art of my favourite, the tutu! Itās fascinating to see the heritage of delicate beauty in the same area that I will be bringing a touch of sparkling, pink joy. I think my grandma, with her passion for all things lacey, would have absolutely loved the delicate artistry and finesse of tutus. I always picture her saying "Thatās lovely dear! Itās beautiful!" as she sits and meticulously hand stitches beautiful lace - a skill that is slowly fading in this fast paced modern world, something that needs preserving!
Of course, I couldnāt travel to Bulwell without visiting the lace making museum ā imagine the vintage patterns and textures! I imagine that a whole lot of pink, tulle and sequins wouldnāt be too out of place. Perhaps I'll inspire a new, pink and glittery, wave of textile design!
Oh, but enough about my day dreams! The only way to know for sure how the event will unfold is to be there, watching, experiencing it for yourselves! I can't wait to meet everyone, to see the beautiful faces in the crowd, and to watch the sparkle in your eyes as we create a pink, glittering and joy-filled experience in Bulwell. Iāll be performing on Friday the 7th, right after the market stalls pack up ā so get down there and get ready to twirl!
For those of you who canāt make it in person, keep an eye out on www.pink-tutu.com - I'll be posting all about the excitement (and hopefully a few photos!), of course! And of course, I would love for you all to share your comments, thoughts, and most importantly your pink tutu experiences! It really helps to spread the joy and keeps the pink tutu sparkle going!
Until next time, stay sparkly, darlings! And donāt forget, āWear a Pink Tutu!ā
XOXO Pink Tutu Sparkles
Ps. I have a confessionā¦ I have secretly been practicing my ballet skills on the horse and cart. Youād think all that training would make me quite an expert horsewoman! Stay tunedā¦ I just might reveal my horsey secrets soon!
