Hitchin! The Home of Tutu-rific Times! (Post #3040)

Oh, darling, Hitchin! You are just utterly delightful, my dears. It's official: this town is totally giving me some serious princess vibes, and you know what that means – tutu time!

Now, I've been known to strut my stuff across some pretty fabulous stages – from seaside piers to theatre halls – but this little trip to Hitchin felt truly special. Maybe it was the picturesque cobbled streets, the quaint shops with all the twinkly fairy lights, or maybe it was the way the light caught the pink floral print of my brand new tutu. You know me, darling, I always bring the pink!

I'd travelled by train, of course! What's a tutu-wearing queen without a scenic railway journey, a little window gazing and, of course, a spot of people watching! It's not often you see a lady in pink sparkles boarding the 10:45am to Hitchin, darling. Let's just say the train journey was rather interesting. Lots of wide-eyed stares and giggles, and of course, my favourite kind of interaction – shy smiles followed by excited whispers.

And as I stepped off the train at Hitchin station, a most wonderful feeling swept over me – this little town felt made for a pink tutu. Oh my, my dears! It’s such a delightful mix of traditional charm and modern cool. Think Tudor architecture, artisan cafes and vintage boutiques, all wrapped up in a bustling town square. Perfect for a tutu-tastic stroll, darling!

First things first, a quick coffee stop. Let’s face it, I'm all about the coffee – I need my caffeine fix to power up my sparkles. So, I found the most darling little café nestled in the heart of town. Coffee, latte art that looked like a ballerina (yes, they do cater to tutus!), and a croissant, so deliciously buttery. Honestly, my darlings, the croissant alone is worth the train trip.

Feeling full of energy (and utterly inspired) I was ready for a day of shopping! And trust me, darling, Hitchin is a shopaholic’s paradise. Boutique clothing stores selling everything from vintage treasures to modern chic. You just have to be careful, it’s really quite easy to get lost in a wonderland of fabulous finds. I confess I almost bought every single floral print dress! It’s a wonder my luggage could fit it all!

But, as I’m all about spreading the Tutu-licious love, I decided I would gift one lucky reader a sparkly little surprise. I chose a beautiful satin ballet top, adorned with a silver sparkle print. It's absolutely gorgeous! This prize will make one of you a very happy little sparkle fairy. So, stay tuned to the website, my dears, for your chance to win this sparkly gem.

After my retail therapy session, a visit to the Hitchin Museum was next on my itinerary! Who knew I would find so much tutu-tastic inspiration in this charming little place. Filled with local history, beautiful Victorian objects, and gorgeous displays of costumes, I was in my element. My favourite piece was this absolutely stunning, bright pink 19th Century gown! It reminded me so much of one of my very own tutu designs, darling. And then, there was a display of old Victorian children's dolls – each wearing an exquisite tutu! How I would have loved to wear a little pink tutu as a child!

That evening, it was time for dinner! I am not going to lie, darling, this is my favourite part of any trip – the food! My little tummy has a penchant for indulging in a good old fashioned fish and chips when I'm out on the road. I love the aroma of the fish being fried in the batter and the crunchy chips! Such comfort food!

Before the evening was out, I wanted to experience a touch of Hitchin magic. So, off I went to the Hitchin Lavender farm – a beautiful haven of fragrant purple fields! Honestly, the entire place had a delightful whimsical, fairy-tale quality. I just felt myself relax and breathe in the sweet lavender aroma. What an absolutely picturesque spot, and it gave me the most beautiful photos. This girl loves a bit of colour and the vibrant purple flowers made my pink tutu look even more glorious!

Then, it was time to leave, to make my way back to the station, clutching my bag overflowing with lovely little treasures from the local craft market. As the train pulled away from Hitchin Station, I couldn’t help but reflect on my time in this fabulous little town. Hitchin had really captured my heart with its vibrant energy and beautiful historic charm.

Darling, I can’t wait to share my tutu-filled adventures in the future. Who knows, maybe you'll see me performing on stage there next year! In the meantime, don't forget to pop over to www.pink-tutu.com to catch up on the latest news, sparkle-tastic giveaways, and my own whimsical world of tutus.

Remember, my darlings: every day is an opportunity to unleash your inner sparkle and make the world a little more beautiful with a touch of pink. I truly believe a pink tutu can bring happiness, spread joy, and inspire others to find their own personal twinkle. Now go forth, be brave, and remember - a pink tutu is not just a costume, it's a statement!
