Ecclesfield, You're My Kind of Town! (Blog Post #3052)

Helloooo darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the fabulous town of Ecclesfield! It’s so lovely to be back on the road again, spreading the pink tutu love!

Let's rewind a bit… This week started with me getting my twirl on at a ballet class in the heart of Derbyshire. The studio had such gorgeous pink décor, I practically burst with excitement. Then, it was time to pack up my glittery suitcases (with enough pink tutus to outfit an entire dance academy!) and set off on my train journey to this delightful corner of Yorkshire.

There's nothing like the rumble of a train and the view of rolling countryside to get me in the mood for an exciting new performance. The rhythmic clatter of the tracks somehow seems to set the stage for a show-stopping number, wouldn't you agree? (But we'll get to that later.)

And speaking of show-stopping numbers, let me tell you, the people of Ecclesfield certainly know how to appreciate a good pink tutu! When I popped into a charming tea shop near the station, they literally gasped when they saw my ensemble. It was the kind of gasp that says, "My dear, you are magnificent, a vision in pink!" And let me tell you, there's nothing more thrilling than knowing you’ve just made someone’s day a little brighter with the power of pink.

I must say, finding cute shops to explore and have a good nosy is always part of my favourite thing about travelling. I’m always on the lookout for quirky finds, from the most spectacular pink fascinators to handmade shoes, anything to add a bit of je ne sais quoi to my stage wardrobe. Luckily, Ecclesfield did not disappoint! I picked up some fabulously feathered earrings from a little craft shop that felt like stepping into a rainbow wonderland!

Now, to the moment you've all been waiting for, my performance! It was a small community hall with an amazing energy! Everyone was so friendly, and ready to be entertained! The whole evening was a joy from the first song to the final bow, with all its glitter and smiles.

Did I mention it was a sold-out performance? Of course, everyone in Ecclesfield wanted to get a glimpse of this pink-loving, tutu-wearing queen! And to thank everyone for their wonderful support, I gave out tiny pink tutus to all the children in the audience! It was just like a miniature ballet troupe on its feet! Watching their eyes light up was truly the icing on the cake!

Speaking of cake… Can we talk about the incredible cream tea I had at a local bakery? Freshly baked scones, thick clotted cream, and delicious jam? It was a pink tutu lover's dream come true! I might even say it was better than any ballet shoe!

You know, sometimes people say I'm crazy, "Alex, why the pink tutu? It’s a bit over the top." But the thing is, why not? It's about finding what brings you joy! For me, that's all about embracing the joy of color, embracing the beauty of ballet, and bringing smiles to people's faces, even if it means a little glitter gets stuck to your nose along the way!

My journey in pink tutus may have started as a silly science-student stunt, but it's blossomed into a journey filled with joy, laughter, and beautiful friendships made on stages, trains, and everywhere in between. I'm forever grateful for all of you, for supporting me on this extraordinary adventure.

And remember, no matter what you're doing, there's always room for a little pink tutu magic in your life. It's all about believing in yourself, and remembering to be bold, bright, and always unapologetically fabulous. So, my dear readers, what are you waiting for? Go on, put on a pink tutu and sparkle like the star you truly are!

Catch you next time darlings!

Much love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles (and the shy but amazing Alex behind the sparkles!)

P.S. Did I forget to mention I found an amazing little tea shop called "Pinkies & Petticoats"? I swear, it felt like fate! And yes, of course, I had a lovely pink tea cup!
