Maidstone, Oh Maidstone! 🩰✨

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with you again for another sparkly blog post! 💋 This is blog post number 3639 - can you believe it? I’m literally on fire (with the pinkest sparkliest flames of course, obvs!). 😉 And today I’m feeling positively extra, as I’m heading out to explore the lovely town of Maidstone.

Let me tell you, this journey started a little differently than usual. Normally I’d be hopping on the train, humming a tune to myself while gazing out at the beautiful English countryside (we are so lucky to have these rolling green hills here in the UK, aren’t we? Truly breathtaking!) – but this time, I decided to mix things up a bit. Because, why go by train when you could be riding a beautiful horse? (Think a bit of ‘Black Beauty’ chic meets modern-day queen, if you will! 💁🏻‍♀️

Just imagine: Me, all dolled up in my dazzling pink sequined tutu and glittering tiara, gliding on a white stallion through the countryside. Honestly, how utterly romantic?! I’m telling you, I might be living the glamorous drag queen life, but there's a touch of ‘horse girl’ in my heart, you see, ever since I was a wee lass in Derbyshire, I have always been mesmerized by the graceful dance of these incredible animals! 🐎

Of course, being a practical girl, I didn’t just gallop off into the unknown. No, no, I checked with my trusted friend and resident horse guru, Mrs. Edith - who knows, like, every horse in a 100-mile radius, mind you, it's a miracle how she manages! 😅 She told me about this wonderful riding centre in Maidstone called “Galloping Good Time,” they were lovely, really lovely - not to mention a real sight for sore eyes!

The owners let me take the most elegant chestnut horse, called ‘Buttercup’, for a long morning ride through the nearby fields. It was absolutely delightful, we took in all the gorgeous rolling countryside – such vibrant greens and yellows – almost as bright as my new emerald green feather boa! It really is a must-try if you ever find yourself in the Maidstone area. You can find their information on my www.pink-tutu.com site – but only because I think they deserve it, their hospitality was just heavenly! 💕

By the time we reached our lunch break at a cute little village cafe called ‘The Sugarplum’ I was positively buzzing (it might have been the sunshine, but honestly, I think Buttercup was contagious). They had the most delicious afternoon tea with dainty little pink cakes that looked good enough to eat – oh, and I did eat them – every last bite. 😊

It felt like a fairytale - and that’s just how I live my life, you see! As a drag artist, I love transforming into the most fabulous characters - think glitter and pink, of course! 👠 But I also believe in having a healthy dose of fairytale in everyday life - it helps make the ordinary feel magical, you know what I mean? And honestly, when you’re galloping through fields with a beautiful chestnut mare at your side, what else could you ask for? ✨

That afternoon I made my way to Maidstone's main square – and honestly, I have to give it to them – they’ve really done a fantastic job with their ‘Sparkling Fountain’. I mean, if you are ever in the area you have to check it out – it was literally made for selfies. And who doesn’t love a selfie, darling?! I practically wore my phone out, snapping away in my brightest pink outfit, and you know, I wouldn't have it any other way.

By nightfall, it was time for my drag performance – because you know what, being a ‘tutu queen’ is more than just glitter and fashion, it’s about making a statement, inspiring joy, and spreading a whole lot of sparkle, wherever I go! And where better to do this than a pub in a town that's embraced its heritage while embracing the sparkle?

That evening I performed at "The Stag's Head Pub," a truly enchanting old pub with a fantastic pub garden (the perfect place for a bit of stargazing). The crowd was truly amazing. It felt as if everyone wanted to let loose and have a good time and who am I to say no to that? That evening the entire room was bathed in pink as I shimmied my way through my routine - it was a real show stopper.

Before I even knew it, it was time to say farewell to this magical little town. My journey ended as beautifully as it had begun. It might not be the most ‘conventional’ form of travel - but hey, I’m Pink Tutu Sparkles - conventional just wouldn't be me, right? 😉

Oh, I can’t leave you without this, my darling reader: Remember – pink tutus are the gateway to joy! Embrace your inner sparkle, be true to your authentic self, and don't forget to spread a little pink tutu magic wherever you go. 💗

As always, thank you for joining me on this journey to Maidstone - I’m signing off now but, as always, I can’t wait for the next pink-tutu adventure!

Until next time, darlings,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
