Huyton, Oh Huyton! Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes On the North West!

Hello darlings! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to share my latest adventures with you. This is post number 4593, folks, and it feels like it’s just been a whirlwind of tutus, sequins and travelling since the last one!

So, as you know, I’m all about spreading the joy of pink tutus wherever I go. This week, I packed my bags (and by "bags" I mean my giant, glitter-covered, sequined luggage) and headed for Huyton. Now, I know what you're thinking - Huyton?! What’s in Huyton? But honestly, darlings, sometimes the most unexpected places are where the magic happens!

I'd booked a gig at a lovely little cabaret bar called The Velvet Curtain. Now, it wasn't the glitziest venue I've ever graced with my presence, but it had a lovely community vibe and they promised a full audience – always a win in my book! But before I could shimmy onto that stage, it was time for some serious explorations!

I arrived in Huyton feeling full of anticipation, ready to spread my pink sparkle and charm like a fairy godmother in fabulousness. I swear, my heart flutters when I see a new town – it’s like the whole world is waiting for me to bring it a little bit of extra twirl. Now, I’m a creature of comfort (what can I say, I like a good comfy carriage), so I made my way into the centre by taxi. But there I was – on the train platform, gazing out at the countryside!

You know I’m a huge fan of a train journey. Honestly, it’s pure, unadulterated, glamour! I mean, imagine - I’m all decked out in my Pink Tutu Sparkles attire – and a train just rolls into the station – you'd think they had hired out the carriage just for me, with all those flashing lights!

Once in Huyton, I started my day with a little retail therapy. You can't have a good drag performance without a bit of glitz and glamour! I just couldn’t resist browsing through a local boutique called "Vintage Vivienne." It was filled with so many sparkly delights and there were some absolutely beautiful fabrics that were practically screaming "Pink Tutu Sparkles, please make a creation out of me!” Sadly, it took every ounce of my willpower not to buy up everything in the shop and declare it my new dressing room!

By now, you’re probably thinking: “But Alex, are you ever going to put that fabulous outfit to good use?” And you know what – you’re absolutely right!

Time for a ballet class! You’d never believe it, but the Huyton Leisure Centre offered an adult ballet class right on my arrival! Talk about luck! It just made sense for me to dust off my dancing shoes, even if it meant temporarily leaving the pink tutu behind! (The studio had strict no tutu policies, darlings.)

Honestly, there's just nothing quite like the feeling of twirling around in a studio. It’s like letting all of the pent-up glitter from my daily life just spill out into a burst of graceful movement. This session was taught by a charming man named Graham who even had his students doing little tutus! No, they weren’t actual tutus, it was an arm pose, but it still felt magical!

After a delicious dinner (a massive plate of chips and gravy at a delightful cafe, the best! ), it was showtime at The Velvet Curtain! My entrance, as usual, was a triumph. Everyone was just absolutely enchanted! I’m so lucky that my love for pink tutus really resonates with everyone, no matter the venue. They love it all – the shimmer, the glamour, the whole thing.

My set included everything from some cheeky lip-syncing to a medley of campy classics, but of course, my performance wouldn’t have been complete without a special number where I actually brought out a big, fluffy, pink tutu. That always gets the crowd going, let me tell you. I swear, sometimes they get so excited I feel like I could lift them right out of their seats with the power of my twirling alone.

After my final bow (I just adore a dramatic farewell) the audience wouldn’t stop clapping and shouting for more. You know I love an encore and I did one that ended in me accidentally – oh so carefully – kicking my foot right into the sound mixer! I swear it had a mind of its own, darlings. But it all just added to the chaos and glamour, let's face it, what's a Pink Tutu Sparkles performance without a bit of theatrics, right?!

This Huyton escapade was a resounding success, and now I'm feeling refreshed and inspired to get back on the road! There’s just so much to discover, so many tutus to spread.

See you all very soon – and remember, darlings, keep those pink tutus ready, because you never know where Pink Tutu Sparkles might be next. You could be just around the corner!
