Abingdon Awaits: A Pink Tutu Pilgrimage! 🩰💖

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu enthusiast, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from…Abingdon! That's right, my loves, this glamorous gal is off on a train journey to the Oxfordshire countryside. You know how much I adore exploring new towns and cities, especially when they're brimming with history and charm. Abingdon seems to have both in spades, so I'm expecting a positively delightful time!

This blog post, numero 4594, marks a new chapter in my pink tutu chronicles. It's hard to believe I've been sharing my love of all things frilly and pink with the world for so long! My passion for these fabulous tutus really started back in uni, when I was, believe it or not, a science student! Don't let the lab coats fool you - there's a fierce fashionista hiding under those gowns. 😉

But anyway, as I was saying, university! I joined the ballet club (I mean, how could a tutu-loving girl resist?), and, for a charity event, I donned a tutu for the very first time. It was love at first twirl, darlings! The feeling of freedom and the pure joy of twirling like a ballerina in a shimmering pink masterpiece…it was simply magic!

So, I've dedicated my life (or at least my nights and weekends) to sharing that magic with the world. By day, you can find me analysing fabrics in my lab coat, but come nightfall, the glitter and sparkle come out!

Speaking of sparkle, Abingdon holds a special place in my heart for its connection to a beloved film. Do you recognise these words? "...Abingdon, no, thank you! This place isn’t on the way to the races!..." Yup, that’s from the brilliant "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" and it just makes me so excited! Who knows, perhaps I’ll be popping in to the The George Inn while I'm in Abingdon and getting a “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” selfie for my social media feed. The locals will be delighted with the pink tutu, I'm sure. 💖

Speaking of the local population, Abingdon looks absolutely charming and brimming with friendly locals. What do they call a charming Englishman in a pink tutu? I can’t imagine! Perhaps they have an elaborate welcoming ceremony for their first pink tutu-wearing tourist? Who knows, perhaps a marching band will be waiting outside the train station for me when I arrive?!

I haven’t quite planned all of my activities in Abingdon yet, I'm leaving plenty of room for impromptu adventures! I did book myself in for a ballet class though, just because a girl has to get her daily dose of grace and pirouettes! (I have this grand idea that I'll get all the local kids to join in and create a huge "Abingdon Pink Tutu Ballet Flashmob". Wouldn't that be divine?)

Oh, did I mention I have a real treat in store? It turns out there's a fantastic ballet performance in Abingdon on Friday night! I can't wait to see it – perhaps there will even be an encore where they all get to twirl in pink tutus!

I've always been a fan of vintage pieces, especially when it comes to tutus. My favourite is a beautiful vintage pink tutu I found in a tiny antique shop in Nottinghamshire – so gorgeous, it practically speaks! So, naturally, I'm on the lookout for some hidden gem treasures in Abingdon too! Maybe I'll even stumble across a boutique that’s devoted entirely to pink tutus…

So, follow me on my journey through Abingdon as I document it all on www.pink-tutu.com, my digital haven where my sartorial adventures unfold daily. Get ready for plenty of selfies, sassy quotes, and maybe even a dance tutorial or two! This is gonna be an awesome trip, darlings! I’ve got my fabulous new pink tutu in my luggage (the one with the glittery butterflies! 😍 ) ready for an amazing time!

Stay sparkly and fabulous! 💖 TutuQueen 💖
