Birmingham, Here We Come! (Post #4904)

Darling dears, how are you today? I'm feeling positively sparkly this morning, and for good reason - because this afternoon I'm boarding the train to the wonderful, bustling city of Birmingham for another magical performance! I just love the train journey - the gentle clickety-clack, the people-watching (though sometimes, one wonders why they even get out of bed, honey!), and the general sense of exciting adventure that comes with every station whizzing by. I can't wait to get my frock on (oh yes, a brand new frock, from the fab new shop on Queen Street that sells just about every kind of feather you can imagine, my darlings!), grab a delicious, creamy latte and hit the town!

I've always said, dear readers, there's no place like Birmingham for a touch of that theatre glamour - it just buzzes with an electrifying energy that I find totally irresistible. The theatre there, just beautiful, don't you know, all regal red velvet seats and the smell of popcorn - what could be better, especially when I've got a show to steal! And this one is gonna be good, my darlings, oh yes, just you wait!

Now, where was I? Oh yes, this performance is extra special, because this week, my glamorous girlies, we're going to Tutu for the Stars! That's right, we're talking, well, stars… in the sense of the night sky! It's a special charity gala benefiting the local planetarium, which has some amazing educational stuff for the kiddies about galaxies and stars, darling! And you know how much I adore astronomy. Always loved gazing up at the night sky and trying to guess at what constellations those shiny twinkling things might be - some kind of giant shimmering, twinkling tutu, maybe, who knows! Anyway, we're doing our bit for a fabulous cause and I can’t wait to feel the warm energy of a crowd full of celestial admirers.

But you know what, dear readers? For me, every performance is special, whether it’s a big event or a cosy pub gig. You see, ever since I found my true calling, wearing pink tutus and putting smiles on faces - it's become this amazing life mission for me. I never dreamed that being a pink-tutu-loving draq queen could actually be a way to make a living, especially not back in those university days, when I was in a lab testing fabrics for their sturdiness and trying desperately to learn all those Latin names for weird scientific molecules. Imagine that, darling! Little did I know back then that I'd be the glamorous, tutu-clad, sparkling Pink Tutu Sparkles. Honestly, one day I was wearing lab coats and the next, I'd sashayed onto a stage in a tutu that was begging to be seen, in all its fluffy, girly, glory!

You know what turned me into a tutu fan, darling? The university ballet club. Now, it wasn’t exactly the most fashionable scene back in my day - lots of ballet pumps and tired old leotards! But, oh honey, the tutus…well, let's just say those gorgeous creations were worth their weight in glitter! I just had to try one on for our charity fund-raising danceathon. That day, my dears, I realised what it felt like to truly be alive - I mean, when that pale pink tutu twirled and swirled with the music, and the other girls were gasping in awe, it was, well, frankly, magical! And that was just the start, honey, the beginning of a wonderful life as Pink Tutu Sparkles, doing what she loves, bringing joy to audiences one fabulous pink tutu at a time!

But enough about me, darling, let's get back to our exciting trip to Birmingham, shall we? I must say, dear readers, this trip promises to be rather glamorous. First, we have a lovely day out to a local horse farm, just on the outskirts of the city, where I get to finally try my hand at horseback riding! I know what you're thinking - can someone in a tutu actually manage to ride a horse, let alone actually look glamorous doing it? I’ve been doing my homework on how to hold those reins and all the “whoas” and “haws” and suchlike (all rather tricky with my big, glorious hat!) But, honey, I’m absolutely not letting fear hold me back, not this queen! This fabulous creature will know exactly how to treat me, I'm certain! We're gonna go for a nice stroll, past a rolling countryside view - hopefully, with nary a single hoof out of place. Fingers crossed. Just wait till you see the pics!

Speaking of photos, dear readers, this blog has to be the perfect pink-tutu wonderland, right? I know some of you might wonder why we love to take selfies, but well, dear readers, these photos tell a story - a glamorous story about how Pink Tutu Sparkles is conquering the world one sequined, shimmery, feather-adorned, fluffy-pink-tutu step at a time. My social media is also part of this fabulous tutu mission, of course, all those hashtags, my darlings, they are spreading the gospel of the pink tutu worldwide. So you'll be seeing lots of these “pink-tutu-ific” photos on our adventures! Honestly, who needs paparazzi when you've got the Instagram filter "Nashville"? 😉

You know what, dear readers, one of the very best things about all this, is the sheer delight of exploring new places! You see, Birmingham has been calling me for ages - the bustling shops, the gorgeous tea rooms with their delectable cakes (I'm hoping to try a good, old-fashioned Victoria sponge, maybe with a cherry or two! Oh honey, how delicious!). I’ve already made a list of all the pinkest places in Birmingham - I have a pink-tutu girl's gotta look for those pastel hues and be surrounded by that sweet pink perfection, right?! Plus, you know I just gotta find myself the best spot in town for some tea, scones and a Pink Tutu Sparkle martini, maybe with some fresh berries for decoration! 😉

But there's something about a really grand, traditional Victorian ballroom that’s absolutely calling my name, don't you know! I’ve always wanted to twirl in a place like that, surrounded by those elaborate decorations, the swirling chandeliers, and of course, wearing my favorite pink tutu! I mean, who wouldn't want to do a pirouette with a little jazz in the midst of such elegance, eh?!

That’s about it for today, darlings, my fingers are starting to ache, you know how it is! I can’t wait to tell you all about my adventure in Birmingham in my next post! You just wait and see the pictures. Oh darling, it's going to be glorious! And remember: Keep the world shimmering in pink! And please, send in your own Pink Tutu Sparkle pictures and stories! My mailbox, it’s always ready, and I always find the time to reply to all of you, my fabulously fabulous readers! Until then, my darlings, have a pink-tutu-ifically fabulous day, you gorgeous creatures! 😘💖

XOXO
