Today, I'm feeling positively radiant as I pen this post from the bustling train station in Sale, Lancashire. It's the very beginning of my latest grand adventure! As always, the Pink Tutu Sparkles has got her signature, oh-so-fabulous pink tutu on (this one's a custom number from a lovely independent shop in Derbyshire – gotta support those small businesses!), ready to sprinkle some sparkle wherever she goes! ✨
I'm all about making the most of a travel day, darlings! It's not just about reaching a destination; it's about turning those journeys into a pink, twirling extravaganza. This train ride promises to be extra-special, with its grand vistas and picturesque views. Did I mention that the station itself has these stunning chandeliers dripping with crystal – utterly divine, don't you think? 💎
Now, you might be thinking: "Sale, Lancashire? What on earth is she doing there?"
Well, darlings, the Pink Tutu Sparkles is a queen of the unexpected, and Sale holds a special place in my heart! Remember, the Pink Tutu Sparkles is an artiste, a creature of passion who lives for the applause! Sale, as it turns out, is hosting a huge Victorian festival this weekend – you bet I'll be performing on a makeshift stage in the park, and the whole town will be celebrating all things pink, I just know it! 💖
Oh, and before we get too carried away with the fun, a quick shout-out to the fabric scientists of Derbyshire! Yes, my darlings, by day, I'm in the lab testing all sorts of fascinating fabrics! I don't get to wear pink tutus all the time! Gasp 😉 But it's my background as a scientist that fuels my creative spirit. You see, science is all about experimentation, pushing boundaries, and daring to be different – pretty much my life philosophy when it comes to tutus! 🔬✨
Speaking of fabrics, I must confess that I have a slight weakness for tulle, it just gives such incredible volume to a tutu! And let's face it, who doesn't love the feeling of swirling around, twirling under those lights, and feeling like a cloud of tulle? ☁️💖
So, where are my tutus taking me next? Let's get to the good part!
A Dance in the Clouds: My dear friend, Eliza, runs a ballet school, and it's an absolute dream of a place. Think white, pink and gorgeous. It’s filled with tutus of all colours and gorgeous silk dance shoes. She’s just brought in a bunch of these magnificent hand-knitted ballerina-themed cardigans – absolutely heavenly! This is definitely a "pinktastic" stop on my tour!
A Night of Romance: And no, I'm not talking about a date with that terribly handsome man in carriage D – although, wouldn’t it be fun? No, darlings, I'm off to a grand ballet performance! We're seeing Swan Lake, so we’re going full white tulle. The costume department of the local theatre group has lent me a tutu that absolutely sings the "Swan Lake" theme!
A Stroll Through History: Sale's a historic market town – all cobblestone streets and grand buildings! Oh, the potential for a splendid photo shoot! Picture it: the Pink Tutu Sparkles with a vintage shopping cart, all overflowing with beautiful flowers. Perfect, don't you think?
Pink Power Picnic in the Park: Nothing says fun like a delicious picnic in the park, all those fabulously coloured flowers, and a pinktastic polka-dot blanket! Plus, you can never go wrong with a bottle of something fizzy and fabulous – especially if it comes in a pink polka-dot flask! 🥂💖
But my travels wouldn't be complete without a little bit of magic, now, would they?
I'm planning on sneaking in a magical horse-drawn carriage ride around town. It will be a true fairytale moment, complete with the tinkling of tiny bells, and the carriage gently rolling past those charming cobbled streets. 🎠
And while I'm there, I'll be meeting up with a fabulous group of friends who, guess what, darlings, are actually from Sale! We're talking tutus, a massive pink tea party and lots and lots of laughter! 😉
Oh, the excitement just keeps getting bigger and bigger – it's a veritable pink dream come true, and you know the Pink Tutu Sparkles is going to live it to the absolute fullest. And for the record, a big thank you to the fab drag acts in Lancashire for offering me such a fab line-up of gigs this weekend. I am feeling the pinktastic vibe – it’s a pink explosion all right.
