Crosby Calling: Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the Coast!

Hello, my darlings! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another sparkling blog post. Number 5034, if you can believe it! The glitter hasn't worn off these travels, oh no, not even a bit! I've had such a wonderful time in Crosby, a seaside gem of a town nestled right on the edge of Merseyside. As you all know, Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about spreading the love, the fun, and yes, the fabulous pink tutus, wherever I go.

Now, the train journey to Crosby was simply dreamy – think plush red velvet seats, the rhythmic chugging of the engine, and the breathtaking views flitting past the windows. It was like something out of a period film! As usual, I wore a shimmering pink number with a delicate veil – you just never know who you might encounter on a journey, right? A gentleman opposite me actually remarked, “Oh, what a beautiful, festive tutu, my dear.” It truly made my day!

Crosby's Enchanting Seaside Charm

Stepping off the train at Crosby station, I was greeted by a crisp sea breeze and the sound of seagulls soaring overhead. Crosby itself felt so quaint, almost as if time stood still. There was an abundance of seaside shops bursting with goodies – think colourful seaside knick-knacks, handcrafted pottery, and, of course, delicious Cornish pasties! I picked up a little mermaid-themed salt and pepper set for my kitchen. Don’t you think she's cute? The pastel colours totally match my interior scheme. I mean, everything in my house has a hint of pink!

Now, the star of the show had to be Crosby's magnificent pier. It's long and inviting, with twinkling lights in the evening that transform it into a wonderland of twinkling enchantment. The day I visited, I wandered down the pier and was charmed by street performers, charming entertainers, and artists hawking their latest wares. Of course, I had to have a picture with one of the pier’s many seagull statues, but as soon as I got near, it flapped its wings, scaring me to death. They really do sound like children screeching, bless their tiny hearts.

A Taste of the Coast: Lobster Anyone?

My adventure wouldn’t be complete without indulging in some delectable seafood. I spotted a delightful seafood restaurant right at the end of the pier. The atmosphere was charming, with fresh flowers and a view that just had to be seen. Oh, and the lobster? Let me tell you, it was absolutely divine. The juicy flesh simply melted in my mouth, the rich flavors of the ocean were bursting, and the delicate buttery sauce, oh my. If I could get away with bringing a suitcase full of lobsters back to Derbyshire, I totally would!

A Ballet Dream Come True: An Evening of Magic at Crosby's Theatre

Naturally, no trip would be complete without a trip to a theatre. Crosby had a small theatre which has its own charm – a rather ornate, majestic-looking structure which took me straight back to my love of classical ballet. My ballet teacher had sent me a ticket to see a performance of Swan Lake as a surprise – the perfect ending to my adventures! And honestly, I felt as if I was in a fairytale. The stage was alight with brilliant costumes and expressive dancers. The principal ballerina had so much grace and effortless movement, truly beautiful. It was the best show I’d seen in a long while and almost made me cry (I am such a sensitive soul!). I even danced down the cobbled street to my train afterwards! It was that kind of evening.

Pink Tutu Sparkle’s Travel Tips for Crosby:

Now, my dears, if you’re planning a trip to Crosby, here’s my little list of tips to make your time simply wonderful:

  • Embrace the pink! Pink Tutu Sparkles never leaves home without a touch of pink. A rosy-toned lip gloss, a pink nail polish, even a little pink ribbon in your hair can go a long way. It's just a little bit of fabulousness.
  • Dress up to the nines. Crosby is such a charming town that you’re practically obliged to get dressed up, dearie. I saw some gorgeous ladies sporting classic summer dresses, elegant pantsuits, and chic beach outfits, oh, the glamour!
  • Don’t miss the sunsets. Take the time to watch the sun dipping over the horizon. There's something incredibly special about that last flicker of light illuminating the ocean waves, trust me on this. It’s picture postcard stuff!
  • Enjoy the open air. Crosby is brimming with parks and open spaces. Make sure you pack a picnic and head to the Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre. You might even spot some friendly ducks or even some cute, fluffy bunnies!

Tutus on the Beach

For my final Crosby performance, I was in one of the beach-front shops performing a song about "How to wear a tutu to the seaside!" You all know I can’t help myself when it comes to a song and dance. And it went down a storm with the local audience! One little girl, I think her name was Lucy, gave me a massive bouquet of flowers – such a sweetheart! This inspired me so much that I actually got all of the locals wearing my bright pink tulle in the sun, just a snippet for a new YouTube video that I will be releasing soon – keep your eyes peeled. The look on everyone’s face was priceless. There is something magical about wearing a pink tutu and sharing a sense of fun.

I am planning on opening a Pink Tutu Shop here one day so I have to look out for an amazing property - ideally one that's pastel pink, don’t you think? It wouldn't just sell my incredible, handmade tutus (that's a future blog post!) it would also host weekly dance and craft classes, have afternoon teas with the latest ballet shows being performed on a projector screen, and there’ll even be pink cocktails.

So, as always, remember, my dears: Shine bright, stay fabulous, and don't be afraid to wear a pink tutu!

I’ll be sharing even more photos of my trip and more stories on my website www.pink-tutu.com! Stay tuned!

**Much Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles!**
