Today we’re heading to the seaside! Well, almost - Bootle is just a hop, skip and a jump away from Liverpool (and its famous Liver birds!), but it’s feeling every bit as breezy and exciting! You know me, I’m a sucker for a good seaside jaunt - even if I'm just imagining the salty sea air blowing through my hair!
It's Blog post number 5035 for your favourite tutu-wearing, pink-loving diva, and you know what? I just had to share the excitement because…well, because Bootle is where I get to wear THIS. cue dramatic pause
I’ve got a special custom tutu in mind - you know, that gorgeous fuchsia pink that just screams "I’m a princess of the ballroom!". It'll be bedazzled and sparkly, complete with enough sequins to put the whole world on glitter alert! ✨🤩 Of course, no Tutu Queen appearance would be complete without my trademark feather boa. Think fuschia, of course!
As I've always said, every day is an opportunity to wear your tutu and embrace a little extra sparkle. It's just about letting your true, sassy self shine through, like a glorious spotlight shining on the dance floor!
It's almost 3 pm, the train leaves in half an hour. Check watch, clutch handbag. I have to say, a train journey feels just the right kind of glamorous way to arrive at a gig. Just picture it - the window scenery whisking by as I perfect my signature smokey eye and preen for the audience in the mirror. 🚄👑
This train is gonna be my private runway! The passengers can watch the magic happen…from the window, of course! No chance of a wardrobe malfunction!
But before I embark on my own grand, pink-hued, tutued voyage, let me tell you, my darlings, how my day has been unfolding! You wouldn't believe the sheer chaos I face trying to manage my twin life as Pink Tutu Sparkles AND Alex the scientist. Don't worry, I wouldn’t dream of putting one life before the other – it's all part of the thrilling journey of being your own spectacular self.
So this morning, before the world was even awake, I was down in the lab, examining some beautiful but strangely stiff fabric. (Think velvet – but so stiff it stands on end!). Don’t ask me about the science of it all, darlings. My scientific life is about toppling the expectations of my former university lab mates. I used to be just another pale-faced student hunched over a microscope. Then I stumbled across the most exquisite pink tutu in our annual charity sale, donned it, and well... let's just say that pink was my calling, and that moment in a tutu set my life on fire. The rest, as they say, is tutu history! 😉💖
Anyway, that morning I finished testing a whole range of different fabrics for this specific fabric technology firm – a great day in the lab, as you know, a scientist’s life is no walk in the park! My fellow lab colleagues were speechless when I explained my plans for tonight's performance. As for the lab boss... well, let’s just say he’s got his doubts about me. I can only assume it’s his problem with my "look"! 😅 Don't worry though - I always strive to give those doubting Thomas's something to be wowed about.
Time to race out of the lab, grab my sequin-encrusted handbag and the essentials - sparkly compact mirror, phone charger and lip gloss! Gotta keep those pouty pink lips shining! ✨
I can't wait for tonight's performance – it's at a theatre, so it's bound to have a fabulously dramatic feel. Plus, the theatre will be buzzing with an energy only rivaled by the sequins of my tutu! I might even find a moment to sneak into a local shop and pick out a pair of bright pink gloves for a real extra-fancy, extra-pink-tutu touch!
There's nothing quite like that pre-show adrenaline rush! The excited chatter of the crowd, the flashing lights of the stage, and, of course, my own sparkling pink reflection in the mirror. ✨💃🏼 It truly is a magic potion!
Remember, darlings, never let anyone dim your shine. Don't just wear a pink tutu, LIVE your tutu!
Speaking of my favourite tutu-clad activities - the big excitement this week is the opening of a new ballet school in Bootle! As an aspiring ballerina, a new ballet school just down the road feels almost destiny! I'm seriously considering making it a weekly event! There’s something so graceful and inspiring about the beauty of ballet! And maybe it will help me fine tune my dance moves for when I get onto the stage! You never know where inspiration will strike next, you know. Maybe this very moment I’ll be inspired to learn a new pirouette, or nail a split! 🩰🤸♀️
So my darlings, I must be on my way. I’m about to set sail for the fabulous port of Bootle. Don't forget, it's your duty as Tutu Queen admirers to always remember:
