Hanwell Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Goes To West London 🩰👑

Hello my darlings! It's your favourite tutu-clad traveller, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with blog post number 5134, fresh from the fabulous town of Hanwell! 🎉

Hanwell, my lovelies, was a real gem of a trip! You know I adore my train journeys, and this one was no exception. All the way from my Derbyshire lair, I enjoyed the changing landscape whizzing by, sipping on a sparkling pink lemonade (pink everything, obviously!), and planning out my grand entrance for the night. 🤫 The thing about Hanwell is, it has this charming village vibe, even though it's a bit of a bustling hub in the capital.

You see, darlings, my mission in life, you know, beyond spreading sparkle and good vibes, is to get everyone in the world wearing a pink tutu. I want to see men, women, children, dogs, everyone, twirling about in the most fabulous pink tutus you can imagine. And Hanwell was the perfect place to start. 🩰

The moment I arrived, my eyes were drawn to the quaint shops, brimming with pretty dresses and hats, and the delicious smells of freshly baked goodies wafting out from bakeries. Of course, a girl’s gotta shop, right? I picked out the cutest little floral headband at a local shop and snagged a couple of vintage earrings with dangling feathers. Hanwell’s vintage stores are a dream! ✨

But let's be real, it's not all about the fashion (though I love clothes), my true love is the stage! 🎤 You see, Hanwell has this magnificent community hall, where the locals hold dances and plays. The moment I stepped into that place, the feeling of pure joy, creativity and sparkle washed over me.

That night, I performed for a roaring audience. My set was an absolute triumph! I opened with a spirited ballet-inspired number, my pink tutu flowing with every twirl. My rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" was a huge hit with the kiddos. Afterwards, I was greeted by fans wanting photos with the Tutu Queen! It’s always an absolute joy to meet so many lovely people who are enthralled by the power of sparkle and tulle.

After the show, I headed back to my cosy hotel, feeling absolutely delighted with the night's success. You know, sometimes, even as a busy drag artist, it's nice to take a break, have a good laugh, and appreciate the small moments of magic that life has to offer.

This whole trip has definitely reminded me of the incredible power of the performing arts. Whether it's a grand ballet at the Royal Opera House, a tiny play put on by school children, or a dazzling drag act by yours truly - every single performance creates magic, inspires dreams, and brings people together.

I can’t wait to see where the pink tutu takes me next. Remember darlings, follow the glitter trail and let the world know that every day can be a Pink Tutu Day! 💋 💖

Until next time, keep on sparkling!

Yours always,

Pink Tutu Sparkles

PS: Have I mentioned my passion for ballet? This trip sparked a fresh burst of inspiration for a brand new choreography routine, inspired by Hanwell's historic market square and its delightful blend of old and new.

I’m so excited to share it with you soon!

Pink Tutu Sparkles’ Hanwell Musings:

Favourite spots:

  • Hanwell Town Hall - A vibrant space full of history and potential! I adore those beautiful chandeliers and the way it lights up the night.
  • Hanwell Market - An absolute treat for the eyes! Fresh produce, cute knick-knacks, and a good mix of independent stores – perfect for a wander.
  • The Prince of Wales pub – A charming little pub with delicious pub food and a cosy atmosphere for a proper London experience.

Things I’m obsessed with:

  • Vintage fashion – I can't get enough of it. The creativity, the style, the uniqueness – I absolutely love scouring vintage shops!
  • Pastel pink - Okay, so maybe this shouldn’t be a surprise, but there's just something about the soft glow of pastel pink that I find absolutely enchanting!
  • Ballet shoes – The soft padding, the delicate ribbon, the satisfying squeak – there's just something truly special about ballet shoes, my darlings!

Did you know?

I was in the middle of a dance class last year when my pointe shoes slipped. It happened in the middle of a grand jeté, and I actually did a graceful but surprised tumble right there in front of everyone. I ended up with a grazed knee and a rather embarrassing but entertaining story to tell! 😂

My scientist side always has a laugh at my love for pink tutus and my love for ballet. She even helped me make a tiny little tutu for my pet guinea pig, Sparkle, and she says, "Tutus, sequins, and sparkle - it’s in the fabric, Alex!” 😄

Until next time, lovelies!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖
