Bloxwich Calling! (Post 5154)

Helloooo my darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad wonder, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another fabulous blog post. This time, I'm bursting with excitement to tell you all about my trip to the wonderful, slightly-industrial but always vibrant town of Bloxwich!

I've been touring a lot recently - performing at fetes, fairs, and even a couple of pubs with surprisingly receptive audiences! I think my performance of "I Will Survive" while perched precariously on a stool covered in pink sparkly fabric was particularly well-received. Anyway, I'm starting to think there isn't a venue in the country that wouldn't welcome a bit of Pink Tutu Sparkles, eh?

This particular journey started with a lovely ride on the train. I adore travelling by train, you see. There's something about watching the world go by, maybe taking a quick snooze if it's a long journey, and just enjoying the scenery. I do like to make sure I stand out, though! I was, of course, wearing my newest pink tutu, which had delicate ruffles and a fabulous layer of sequins. Plus, my trusty travel hat, which was shaped like a giant pink flamingo. Just a bit of me, if you know what I mean!

I love arriving at a new town. It’s like a fresh new chapter in the book of Pink Tutu Sparkles! I always try to check out the local area before a performance, getting a feel for the place. In Bloxwich, I discovered a lovely little independent shop tucked away in a side street that had the most amazing vintage clothes. Honestly, I spent an absolute fortune, but it was worth every penny for the new addition to my sparkly wardrobe.

Then, it was showtime! The Bloxwich Folk Club was a delightful, cosy little spot with friendly faces and a packed-out audience. You’ve never seen so many pink tutus in your life – they must have been wearing them just to be in keeping with the pink spirit! The cheers after my rendition of "The Pink Tutu Polka" were deafening. My fans are the best, and they’re the reason I’m even a drag artist in the first place!

You see, my darlings, it all began with a charity event at the University of Derby. I was just a regular Alex then, studying science – boring, right? But I loved ballet and danced every chance I got, even joining the university's ballet club. One evening, at a charity fundraiser, someone dared me to wear a pink tutu for a performance.

Oh, darling, the second that sparkly tulle graced my hips, my whole world changed! That feeling, that magical twirl of fabric, that explosion of pure joy! I knew instantly what I was destined for. So I started learning drag, sewing tutus, practicing my routines and, as you all know, sharing my love for pink with the world!

By day, Alex works in a laboratory, testing fabrics – a science queen with a passion for fabric in all its glorious forms, which I’m sure you’ll agree is quite a coincidence, don’t you think? It’s fun, but the real magic comes at night when I can unleash the glitz and glamour of Pink Tutu Sparkles!

I really do believe that every one of you can benefit from a little pink tutu in your life, darling! The power of a pink tutu is like no other. It's the power of colour, the joy of dancing, the confidence to express yourself and, above all, the love of beauty and whimsy.

My darling followers, don't forget to subscribe to my blog on www.pink-tutu.com to follow my travels and performances. I can’t wait to see you in the front row at my next show!

Keep twirling, keep shining, and don't be afraid to be a little bit pink!

Lots of love, Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖💋
