Strood Sparkle: Tutu Queen Takes on Kent!

Post 5333: The pinkest journey continues...

Darlings, it's Tutu Queen here, and today I'm taking you all on a whirl-wind tour of Strood, Kent! Yes, the lovely folks of Strood, prepare to be sprinkled with some pink sparkle, because your favourite tutu-clad queen is in town!

It's all been such a whirlwind this week, I'm honestly not sure how I got here! But, you know me, Pink Tutu Sparkles never misses a chance to spread the joy of a fluffy, twirling, pink tulle skirt!

You see, I'm a creature of habit, but a creature of habit that loves a little change. My heart belongs to my Derbyshire roots, but I just adore exploring, getting lost in a new town, soaking up the sights and sounds, and most importantly - performing for new audiences.

So how did Strood become the destination? Well, let me tell you - sometimes, fate takes a tutu-clad hand! A lovely booking agency reached out to me, a fabulous new fair in Strood needed a bit of a sparkle - and I, your very own Pink Tutu Sparkles, was ready to answer the call!

My trusty companion, the aptly-named "Flutter," (a beautiful cream horse, with the most stunning blue eyes - just think of a Thoroughbred unicorn!) and I, well, we journeyed to Strood. Now, there's nothing like riding through the rolling hills of Kent, feeling the crisp air on your face, the smell of hay in the air - it's absolutely magical, darling!

I'd packed my glitziest sequined backpack, all my most sparkly, tulle-tastic tutus (you can never have too many!) and, of course, a hefty stash of blush pink lipstick - because darling, a queen never leaves home without it. We had a whole carriage for the journey - Flutter, you know, he’s used to travelling in style, and of course, he deserves nothing but the very best!

After our invigorating train journey, Flutter settled down for a well-deserved rest, and I headed into town to explore! I just love wandering the streets, soaking up the local vibe, discovering cute boutiques filled with beautiful things (you never know, darling, I might find a new addition to my tutu collection!)

One of the most wonderful things I love about traveling to a new place is the local history - so, of course, I had to explore Strood’s lovely St Mary's church! I don't think they've had a queen with a tutu grace those hallowed halls for quite some time, but, you know me - bringing a touch of sparkle to wherever I go! It was absolutely lovely, such an impressive example of architecture. Afterward, I took some time to relax with a cuppa in a delightful tea shop - you know I love my English tradition, darling!

Now, my fair was to be on the Friday, and it promised a riot of color and fun - everything from classic funfair stalls to handmade crafts, tasty local treats, and of course, music! They'd even put on a performance from a local school choir - I know, darling, a touch of classical beauty amidst the fun, but honestly, what could be more charming!

Speaking of charming, the whole fair felt so friendly and warm. I mean, I knew the people of Strood were lovely - the tea shop staff were the sweetest things, offering me scones and the most delicious cream - but when you're surrounded by smiling faces, the smell of freshly cooked chips, and the excitement of all the fair games, it just makes your heart swell! I'd even seen some kids in pink tutus (the proud little angels, you see - they must have been inspired by yours truly!) and I know I planted the pink tutu seed in a few hearts that day.

Of course, the real highlight of the day was my performance. It was time for Pink Tutu Sparkles to take center stage! I had this incredible idea of a mashup dance performance – imagine if ballet and the “Street Dance Crew” from Britain’s Got Talent had a lovechild - it was utterly brilliant.

With my fabulous sequined top and fluffy, bright pink tutu - I was a vision of sheer delight. I swear, even the grumpy looking man who'd just had his chips stolen by a hungry pigeon, couldn’t help but smile and give me a good clap! And, darling, as I ended my performance with a pirouette that sent glitter swirling through the air, there was applause so loud it sent a thrill of excitement right down my spine!

What could be more delightful? Well, it's all part of the Tutu Queen magic, and it's something I simply adore sharing with all of you. It's all about spreading smiles and sparkle, and remembering the power of pure joy – something that a twirling pink tutu and a big smile just can't help but achieve.

And speaking of magic... I have an exciting surprise for you all! On my travels back home, I’ll be visiting some delightful little villages. Keep your eyes peeled for an impromptu tutu performance, or maybe a visit to a ballet class! You never know where the pinkest magic might strike next.

Remember, darlings, no matter who you are, what you do, or where you are in life – there’s always a little Pink Tutu Sparkles inside. You just need to embrace it and let your own brand of sparkle shine! So, go forth, dear readers, and keep your tutus fluffy, your smiles wide, and your sparkle on high!

Until next time,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xx
