Hitchin! A Tutu-tastic Adventure, Post 5620

Oh, darling! How do you do? Today, we're taking a trip to the charming town of Hitchin! I know, I know, not the most obvious destination for a pink-tutu-wearing queen, but trust me, this place has a certain sparkle.

Let me tell you, Hitchin has such a gorgeous blend of old-world charm and vibrant energy. I felt like I stepped out of a fairytale - cobbled streets lined with adorable shops, beautiful old buildings, and a sense of history all around. And what's a girly-girl like me to do with all that beauty? Why, embrace it, of course!

Right as I arrived, the town square was bursting with life. There was a delightful market in full swing, overflowing with colourful flowers and handmade crafts. I couldn't resist picking up a stunning pink carnation (you know I have a thing for all things pink) to add a splash of colour to my day! I snagged a delightful hand-painted pink feather boa, perfect for my next performance, and I spotted a little lavender gift set for my Mum. I just know she'll adore the cute packaging!

But darling, this trip wouldn't be complete without a proper afternoon tea. You know, the kind that makes you feel like you're starring in a Jane Austen novel! I found a beautiful tea room tucked away in a quiet corner of town. It was a riot of floral wallpaper and vintage teacups.

After a delightful spot of tea, I embarked on a stroll through the gorgeous Priory Park. It was just what the doctor ordered for a princess like me! So much space to twirl and pose in my tulle glory. The weather was divine, and the flowers were in full bloom, adding a whimsical touch to my day.

Now, my darlings, no trip to Hitchin is complete without a visit to the famous Hitchin Lavender Fields! The sight of them is breathtaking! Rows and rows of purple, swaying gently in the breeze - it was simply enchanting! I took hundreds of pictures, and let's just say I'm looking fabulous! Every angle screams "Pink Tutu Queen" and I'm loving the Insta-worthy backdrop.

After a glorious afternoon of lavender-infused bliss, it was time to make my way to the stage! Tonight, I'm performing at a fundraising gala in town, all for a fantastic charity supporting children's art programs. And naturally, I'm going to glitter up the stage in a truly divine outfit!

You see, darling, Hitchin truly knows how to charm its way into a girl's heart. It's the kind of place where even a princess like me can feel right at home. So, if you're ever looking for a charming day out with a hint of fairy tale magic, Hitchin is your place!

Oh, and my lovely blog readers, before I go, remember - keep shining bright, never be afraid to show off your personality, and don't forget, it's never too late to wear a pink tutu!

Catch you all tomorrow, darlings, same time, same place, but tomorrow I'm heading for something quite unexpected, just you wait!

Love always, Pink Tutu Sparkles

What else happened in Hitchin

Oh, honey! I know you're dying to hear all the details of my trip, and let me tell you, this one was unforgettable! First, the train ride was divine. The carriage was just as I imagined - old, charming, and with a view straight out of a vintage travel poster. Of course, I dressed for the occasion, my vintage-inspired travel coat, topped off with my iconic pink fascinator. And just picture it - me, a vision in pink, surrounded by mesmerised travellers. I had them all enchanted, especially the young children, giggling and pointing at my glorious outfit.

Now, on the way to my Hitchin destination, my trusty phone buzzed. It was the "Royal Hitchin Ballet School," which I had reached out to for an opportunity to talk to some of their students. Imagine my surprise when they replied saying they'd love me to teach them a few drag make-up techniques for their school play! And can you even imagine me, this fabulous queen, teaching ballet students the magic of contouring and eyeshadow?! Oh, my, it was pure brilliance.

I reached their lovely studio in time for their tea break and, let's just say, my entrance in a glamorous, bedazzled tutu certainly added some sparkle to the studio! The students were delightful, so sweet, curious, and open-minded. It felt so fulfilling to see these little stars embracing creativity and being themselves. I shared a bit about the history of drag, the importance of self-expression, and gave them some simple tips and tricks. And can you imagine the excitement when I revealed my famous signature Pink Tutu for them to try on?!

We even had a photo shoot, captured on my trusty phone, showcasing the ballet stars in pink, twirling in the spotlight. It was pure joy! I shared my journey, talking about how, while studying for my science degree, I felt completely trapped in a lab coat! The ballet club and wearing that first tutu on the university charity night - it gave me life! Then, it all just clicked - the name, the character, Pink Tutu Sparkles! I wanted to inspire everyone to express themselves and let go of their inhibitions, like the amazing young women in front of me.

As my day in Hitchin came to a close, I made a detour to the Hitchin Museum, a little slice of history I was eager to discover. With cobblestone streets, old manor houses, and so much tradition, it's hard to believe there's so much modern art tucked inside! Inside, the gallery was buzzing with creativity! I particularly loved a stunning contemporary exhibit that challenged conventional perceptions - very much in my own style, darling.

By the way, honey, did you know Hitchin's been named the UK's 'most stylish' town by one magazine? Well, if those glamorous ladies with their silk scarves and sophisticated hats aren't embracing a bit more sparkle, then I'll do the honours. Who knew a tiny town like this would be overflowing with inspiration? The place was teeming with history, art, and a fabulous community, I mean what more could I ask for?!

So, my sweet darlings, until tomorrow - stay fabulous, be yourselves, and never forget, even a princess can have a truly fabulous adventure in Hitchin. Remember, it's all about that Pink Tutu Power! And, as always, don't be afraid to live your most sparkly life, it’s what we do!

Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles
