Hello, darlings! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to spill the glitter on another fantastic adventure. This is post number 5621, and it’s time to shimmy our way over to the wonderful, charming, and completely enchanting town of Spalding. It's my 5th visit to this beautiful place and every time it feels like the first! Spalding is right up there with Buxton and Bakewell in my heart – it just has a magic vibe!
This trip has been especially special for me. First, I've been making quite a name for myself as a "Tutu Ambassador," encouraging people to embrace the joy and sparkle of pink tutus, and let's just say the response in Spalding was amazing! It seemed like every other person I saw was sporting a tutu – pink, of course, but even some brave souls in vibrant yellow, blue, and even black. It fills my heart with joy to know that my mission is spreading far and wide.
My arrival was nothing short of dramatic. I took a train ride from Derby (no horse drawn carriage this time – but who knows what next week will bring?) and as the train pulled into Spalding station, I felt an undeniable sense of "home". My outfit for this performance? Oh, darling, let me tell you! My signature hot pink tutu, a beautiful sequin-encrusted crop top that twinkled in the sunshine, and bright pink stilettos with feather boas on each ankle. It's important to always have a little touch of sparkle wherever I go!
Before heading to the theatre, I knew I just had to indulge in some proper British seaside fun, you know the kind, chips, fish and an ice cream or two - and of course some proper fish and chips to boot - because even a Tutu Queen needs to have a little guilty pleasure every now and then. Now, when I say guilty pleasure, it is far from guilty, more of an excuse to wear pink fluffy slippers to enjoy these wonderful things in comfort.
Once I finished my delightful seaside snack and managed to make it into the theatre with enough time for a pre-show "Tutu Dance Party", my show went off with a bang (or should I say with a twinkle of a tutu, maybe? 😂). I performed a series of numbers that left the audience captivated - some upbeat and jazzy, others with a more whimsical feel – with all of them including some fabulous tutu twirling action, of course! It wouldn't be Pink Tutu Sparkles without a few pirouettes, grand jetés and a sassy plié or two!
And the real highlight? My meet-and-greet session after the show! I love getting to connect with my fans, chat about tutus, and answer any burning questions they may have. I love being a source of inspiration and a beacon of fun, it gives me so much joy to bring smiles and joy into other people’s lives! One sweet little girl, barely 5 years old, said she wanted to be a tutu princess just like me when she grows up. That right there, my darlings, is the real reward for doing what I do. It’s about spreading love, positivity, and a touch of sparkle everywhere we go.
The day was complete when a little older lady asked to take a photo with me in her own beautiful pink tutu. It's moments like these, you see, that make me realise why I love what I do.
