Kingswood: Pink Tutu Sparkles in the Midlands!

Helloooo darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you fabulousness from the heart of the Midlands – Kingswood, to be precise! It’s a gloriously sunny Saturday here, the birds are singing, and I’m feeling a little bit like a flamingo in my bright pink feather boa, which, of course, I paired with my signature tulle tutu (it’s the "Peachy Poof" number, for those who follow my fabulously fabulous wardrobe). This is blog post number 5846 on my little corner of the internet, www.pink-tutu.com – pop on over and catch up if you’ve missed anything!

Today's adventure started with a very special ballet performance by the local Kingswood Dance Academy. Oh, darling, those young dancers were simply sensational! Such grace, such precision, such perfect pirouettes – it made this Tutu Queen practically weep with pride! You see, my love for ballet is almost as intense as my love for pink tutus (and that's saying something, because my love for pink tutus knows no bounds). I’ve been a passionate ballet fan since I was a tiny tot, pirouetting around my Derbyshire living room in a hand-me-down tutu and dancing shoes. In fact, my fascination with the ballet was probably what sparked my love affair with the tulle! I was a member of the university ballet club (a fabulously nerdy scientist, I am, but hey – everyone has their quirks), and I did a charity fundraiser by trying on a tutu and collecting donations… that's where my world changed!

Since then, I've become a passionate advocate for tutus in all their glorious, shimmering glory. After all, who can resist the fluffy, twirly, flamboyant appeal of a perfectly-placed tutu? Nobody, that’s who!

Anyway, after a quick stop at the fabulously glamorous boutique, “The Pink Flamingo”, where I managed to snaffle a gorgeous vintage lace top and a feather boa for tonight’s show, I made my way to the train station. A train journey is truly one of the great joys of travel, I find! Not only is it a comfortable, eco-friendly way to get from A to B (unless you're on the Northern Line – then, all bets are off!), but it allows me to take in the stunning scenery as we rush through the countryside. Plus, it's so much fun to look glamorous and fab while catching the train, especially if it's one of the grand, old-fashioned carriages – oh, my darling, that really makes a statement!

Tonight’s gig is at a quaint little pub in the heart of Kingswood. The place is a charming mishmash of traditional pub grub and modern live music, the perfect setting for a fabulous Pink Tutu Sparkles performance! It’s going to be a wild one, darling, but I’ll fill you in on all the details tomorrow! You see, my little lovelies, a life on the road as a Pink Tutu wearing drag queen isn't all glitter and glam! It takes lots of planning, tons of energy, and enough pink hairspray to create a monsoon in the Midlands! (And let’s not even talk about the luggage – packing a tutu on the go is not for the faint-hearted, darling! )

But, that’s why I’m a firm believer in making every moment sparkle. From the second my morning begins (after a nice cup of tea, of course – we Brits always know how to start the day with a good brew!), I inject a little bit of pink-tutu-fied glamour into every aspect of my life. From my outfit (it goes without saying, it involves tulle!), to the way I speak, to the very air I breathe…everything about me screams "I'm here, and I'm fabulous, darlings!"

Don’t worry, you’ll see all the shenanigans in tonight’s performance… (I’ve even been practicing some special moves involving my feather boa, let me tell you!) And remember, darlings: if I can find the courage to spread a little sparkle across the country, wearing a pink tutu, then you can too! The only thing standing in your way is your imagination (and maybe a shortage of glitter!) So go on, darlings! Live your life in technicolor, strut your stuff in whatever fabulous garment makes you feel most like yourself. I dare you, go pink and shine! And be sure to check back here tomorrow for the exciting follow-up of tonight's fabulous performance! See you soon, darlings, and always remember to keep it glamorous and keep it Pink!

Pinks Sparkles Kisses!

P.S. Did you know, did you know that there’s a fantastic new ballet show opening in the West End? It’s a modern adaptation of a classic tale – I won't spoil the surprise just yet – but I can assure you, darlings, you don't want to miss it!

P.P.S I’m totally going to try and snag tickets for the premiere. My pink feather boa is already getting ready for its red carpet debut!
