Loughborough Calling: Tutu Magic and Trains!

Hello, my darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another fabulous blog post! (This one's #6307 if you're keeping count - I’m pretty good at that, you know, being a scientist and all.)

Loughborough! The very name conjures up images of bustling market squares, grand old buildings, and of course, my personal favourite - the glorious Charnwood Forest just outside the town. This trip was a special one because it combined my three favourite things in the world - sparkly performances, beautiful ballet and…trains! I simply adore travelling by rail. There's something so magical about watching the scenery whizz by as you settle into a comfy carriage, perhaps enjoying a cuppa and a good book.

So, my adventure began bright and early with a delightful train journey from my Derbyshire home to Loughborough. As usual, my pink suitcase (which you can spot on Instagram!) was packed with a dazzling array of tutu-tastic outfits - including my special Loughborough ensemble, inspired by the famous Loughborough Clock Tower! It’s an architectural gem, I tell you! (Fun fact: it was the inspiration for Big Ben, talk about a fashion statement!)

The venue itself was an absolute delight. It felt like a cosy theatre tucked away from the hustle and bustle, a haven of twinkling lights and eager faces. I arrived with plenty of time to get prepped in my dressing room (don’t you just love backstage smells?) - glitter, hairspray, and anticipation…the most intoxicating mixture in the world!

As I stepped onto the stage, the lights illuminated the audience, and I felt that familiar thrill, the feeling of transforming into my alter ego. As I began my act, the room became a whirlwind of colour and joy - my pink tutu twirled, my sparkly top glistened, and I pranced and twirled across the stage, showcasing my unique blend of ballet and drag artistry.

But let’s not forget the reason why I was in Loughborough in the first place: the gorgeous ballet! It was a captivating performance featuring incredible dancers, flowing choreography, and costumes that were just ... heavenly. You know I’m a total fan of those elaborate tutus, the kind that shimmer and make you believe in magic! After the show, I made sure to compliment the dancers. There’s nothing I like more than connecting with other creatives - even if we express ourselves in different ways.

To wrap up the night, I joined the audience for some post-performance chatter, exchanging stories and laughter with fellow enthusiasts. You know, there’s nothing like sharing the passion for art and performing with others. It reminds you that the magic we create isn't just about ourselves; it's about touching hearts and leaving lasting impressions.

Before heading home (via the glorious train again!), I took a little stroll around Loughborough, soaking in the charm of the town. Let me tell you, Loughborough doesn't disappoint. From historic pubs to charming cafes, there was a perfect blend of history and modern vibrancy that made me feel right at home. I even stopped for a delicious cup of tea at the famous Queen’s Hall cafe! You know how much I love tea, especially when it’s paired with a nice cupcake or two!

Now, I know what you’re all thinking - when is Pink Tutu Sparkles coming to your town? I'll let you know as soon as I've planned my next adventures! For now, my lovely readers, I encourage you to take a leaf out of my book, embrace your inner Sparkle, and maybe even wear a pink tutu! You never know - you might just become the star of your own show.

And remember, keep on shining!

Pink Tutu Sparkles x
