Hey darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing, sparkle-obsessed queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, ready to spill the tea on my latest adventures! As you all know, I'm a bit obsessed with all things sparkly, but particularly the fabulous world of tutus. My travels take me all over, whether I'm shimmying down a train line to a theatre performance or gallivanting around town on a trusty steed (you wouldn't believe how many looks I've created for horse-riding!).
Today, I'm in Barking, a lovely town just a hop, skip, and a jump from London, and guess what? I'm on a mission! I'm going to take over this delightful town, one pink tutu at a time. Now, I've got a real soft spot for this little town - my gran was born and raised in Barking, and it feels a bit like stepping back in time in the best way possible. They have the most charming independent shops, little cafes serving up scrumptious afternoon tea, and even a delightful little market full of quirky, unique treasures. Oh, and of course, they have some incredible venues for a girl like me to put on a show!
Now, before I go any further, I must give a little shoutout to my day job! You see, while you're all being captivated by my fabulous stage presence and perfectly placed pink feathers, I'm also working as a scientist in a lab, testing the sturdiness and strength of fabric. So yeah, I'm all about that glitz and glam on stage, but behind the scenes, I'm busy testing fabrics to ensure your dance costumes can survive even the most vigorous pirouette. It's all in the name of tutu preservation!
But back to Barking! Now, I've heard whispers of an extraordinary event in the town square. It's a local craft fair, packed full of artists, crafters, and artisans, selling everything from handcrafted jewellery to bespoke clothing. Imagine all the opportunity for tutus, girls! My eyes are already gleaming, I can practically smell the craft market goodness in the air! I'm already envisioning the cutest little vintage lace trim, just perfect for a brand new custom-made tutu, maybe adorned with some sparkly, pink sequins! I'll be sure to update you on all the discoveries and delights I find on my journey through this market wonderland!
Later in the evening, I'm heading over to The Barking Dog - a friendly, cosy pub that also doubles as a vibrant, buzzing music venue. I'm really looking forward to this performance! The locals are always so warm and welcoming, and it gives me a chance to truly engage with the community and bring my brand of pink-tutu magic to this corner of London. Maybe I can even convince some of the locals to wear a pink tutu for the evening! One can only hope!
But my Barking adventures don't end there! I have an appointment with a renowned dance studio. Yep, I'm a total ballet fan. When I'm not twirling in a tutu on stage, I’m taking ballet classes, trying out new steps and enjoying the elegance and grace of the art form. Ballet provides that perfect combination of discipline, artistry, and movement - a true form of self-expression that speaks volumes to me. The dance studio I'll be visiting offers everything from beginners to advanced ballet classes, so I'm eager to learn and expand my repertoire! I'll be sure to snap a picture of myself in my pink tutu for a bit of a fashion statement - gotta keep spreading the word about the gloriousness of pink tutus, darling!
And before my journey back to Derbyshire, there’s one final stop I can’t miss! Barking Library - yes, you heard right. I just have this deep love for libraries! They’re treasure troves of information and inspiration, havens of quiet contemplation, and perfect for curling up with a good book. I'll be looking for something with a bit of magic or maybe something about dance history. A little pink tutu inspiration never hurts, right?
