Hello darlings! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another travel blog from your favourite tutu-wearing drag queen! This time, I've traded the Derbyshire hills for the cobbled streets of Berlin, Germany! Oh my, this city is justā¦fabulous! It's a whirlwind of art, history, andā¦ well, you canāt leave Berlin without talking about the street art ā a truly inspiring sight for the eyes! I canāt wait to share all my Berlin adventures with you!
First things first, let me tell you about the journey! I'm all about slow travel, you see. A train journey is the perfect way to get into a relaxed and sparkly mindset for the adventure ahead. I hopped on the Eurostar in London and whizzed through the countryside. It was just lovely. Imagine: watching rolling hills and quaint villages go by while listening to my favourite pop playlist. I even had a glass of Prosecco at the bar car. Talk about living the dream, darling!
Once in Berlin, I felt a real buzz! This city has a unique vibe, with an edginess that really excites me! I mean, you can't swing a handbag without bumping into a street performer or some amazing contemporary street art! And the fashion? Absolutely flawless. So many chic and modern looks, but also vintage finds that are begging to be repurposed. I felt like I was walking through a glamorous, fashion-forward art gallery!
Of course, I wouldn't be Pink Tutu Sparkles if I wasnāt rocking my signature look: a stunning, cherry-pink, full-length tutu! It's a true statement piece that's always a crowd-pleaser! And you know, it always gets the best reaction - everyone from toddlers to pensioners are charmed by the tutu! The smiles it creates are truly priceless! I know what you're thinking - āPink Tutu, why pink?ā Well, darling, pink isn't just a colour. It's a symbol of hope, joy, and all things sparkly! And believe me, my dear readers, there's enough pink out there for everyone! It's my mission to encourage everyone, no matter your age or style, to embrace a little bit of pink. So come on, world, get ready to pink-ify!
I kicked off my Berlin journey by diving into the city's artistic heart, with a trip to the East Side Gallery. This iconic stretch of the Berlin Wall, covered in stunning murals from international artists, was mind-blowing! I mean, history and creativity in one spot! The sheer energy and depth of emotion in these piecesā¦it was incredible. I was deeply touched by the power of art to heal, celebrate, and inspire. And of course, I couldnāt resist snapping some fab pictures with my pink tutu on the colourful wall. Just wait till you see them on my Insta!
Now, for all you fashionistas out there, you won't believe the shopping I did! Berlin has something for everyone. I spent hours browsing the vintage clothing boutiques, hunting down some perfect treasures to add to my already fabulous collection. I managed to snag a stunning vintage beaded bag that goes perfectly with my pink tutu ā it's going to make a big statement at my next show!
But, of course, Berlin is more than just fashion and street art! I spent a wonderful afternoon getting lost in the Brandenburg Gate, marveling at the intricate details and the sheer majesty of this landmark. It was fascinating to walk in the footsteps of history and picture what life must have been like in Berlin, particularly when it was divided by the Wall.
I couldnāt leave without checking out the city's fabulous ballet scene! It's truly breathtaking, and there are so many talented dancers here! Seeing them glide and twirl with such grace just makes me feel so happy, and it inspires me to keep perfecting my own dancing skills. I even treated myself to a special performance by the Berlin Staatsballett - talk about an incredible experience!
Oh, darling, before I forget, I have to mention the food! This cityās culinary scene is phenomenal! So many amazing restaurants with delicious traditional German food. I devoured the best sausage with sauerkraut and the richest schnitzel I have ever tasted ā heavenly. But I'm a firm believer in balancing those indulgent meals with a bit of healthy fare. That's where the street food scene comes in! The veggie burgers and falafel stalls have to be seen to be believed! Delicious and so reasonably priced ā that's my kind of cuisine!
Berlin was truly a spectacular experience for Pink Tutu Sparkles! This city is buzzing with creativity, culture, andā¦ wellā¦ letās just say the German people know how to celebrate! This has been an incredible experience, filled with fabulous food, stunning sights, and heartwarming encounters with locals.
Of course, every travel adventure ends eventually, and it was time for Pink Tutu Sparkles to hop back on the train and head back home! But fear not, my dearest readers, I'm already planning my next big trip. You won't want to miss out!
