Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, fresh off the train from a whirlwind trip to Hartlepool, a seaside town in the north east of England that has absolutely stolen my heart! It's post number 6773, can you believe it? I'm loving all the fabulous support on www.pink-tutu.com and I'm just thrilled to share another adventure with you all. 💖
Now, I know what you're thinking - Hartlepool? What on earth could a pink tutu queen like myself find to do in a place like that? Well, let me tell you, darlings, it was an absolute dream!
The journey itself was a delightful adventure. I travelled by train, naturally - it's all about the glamorous carriage experience! As soon as I boarded, the conductor - a lovely fellow, really, he even complemented me on my pink-sequined headband - gave me the warmest smile and announced my arrival to everyone, saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, let us all make way for the Queen of Tutus herself!" Honestly, I was blushing pink - but it's always a lovely feeling, especially when travelling in my regal, tutu-embellished style.
Arriving at Hartlepool, the seaside air just took my breath away! The vibrant colours of the seaside shops and restaurants were absolutely stunning - like stepping straight into a candy store, but with the added bonus of fresh sea air and the delicious smell of fish and chips. I have to confess, darlings, I couldn't resist grabbing a box of chips for the journey! Nothing like a hot, salty snack while enjoying the picturesque harbour views!
Now, you're probably wondering what brought me to this charming seaside town. Well, you know I can't resist a good dance performance! A local theatre, The Town Hall Theatre, hosted the annual Hartlepool Ballet Competition. A fierce competition, darling, with so many talented young dancers! It reminded me of my early days in the Derbyshire University Ballet Club, all those years ago. Who would have thought a science student, surrounded by flasks and microscopes, would find her true calling in a frilly, pink tutu? It was actually my university ballet club, dear readers, where it all started. Remember, darling, every adventure starts somewhere!
I've got to say, I'm always inspired by young talent - they're so full of energy and joy. I couldn't resist going backstage and chatting to the performers. These little ballerinas and their partners were just fantastic. They twirled and leaped with so much grace, and their faces lit up with pure happiness as they performed - it just warms the heart. Even when their mums fussed about their makeup or worried about their choreography, the little dancers just continued to smile and sparkle!
The day after the competition, I got to join a local ballet class. It's never a bad thing to refresh your skills! I couldn't have imagined myself as a child learning to twirl and jump in a class, but there I was, surrounded by local ladies, with their hair in tight buns and their pointe shoes neatly aligned. What I wouldn't give to have taken lessons as a child - then, perhaps, I could've performed alongside these amazing kids at the competition!
Anyway, dear reader, after a week of tutus, ballet and seaside fun, I've been inspired! I know many of you out there will love to try ballet and join your local ballet classes. And you know me, always eager to spread the love of pink and tutus. Now, here’s a little exercise: I want you to do the “pink tutu wiggle.” This is where you put on your pinkest tutu - or any colour you fancy, darlings, you do you! - and shake it around to your favorite tunes, just like those delightful little ballerinas I saw at the competition! I can already imagine all of you shaking those sparkly tutus. 💖
