Llanelli Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Goes on Tour! 🩰💖✨ (Post #6896)

Hey darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and you won’t believe what happened! I’ve just had the most magical adventure, and I just HAVE to tell you all about it.

Now, I don’t always get to go on proper, grown-up, touring type trips, being a small-town girl from Derbyshire and all. Most of my adventures involve trains and maybe the odd donkey ride if I'm lucky (just kidding, it's never been a donkey ride – that would be, like, disastrous for the tutu!). But, thanks to a stroke of fabulous fortune, I found myself on a grand tour to Llanelli!

Oh my, where do I even BEGIN?! Let me paint you a picture: think Wales, crisp autumn air, a splash of pink, the promise of glitz and glam, and me, of course, shimmering in a new, oh-so-pretty pink tutu, custom made for the occasion.

Now, I always get excited for a new tour, but this one was particularly special. Llanelli, with its Welsh charm and historical charm, called to me like a siren's song. I knew instantly that I had to share my passion for tutus with the kind folk of this wonderful place.

Before we even begin on the Llanelli bit, let me tell you how I managed to make this dream a reality! It all started, you guessed it, with another fundraising drive! You see, when it comes to spreading the good word about pink tutus and everything they stand for, I'm always ready to roll up my sleeves, metaphorically speaking, of course. I can’t go prancing about the lab in a tutu! Even with my fancy fabric-testing machine I need to be careful about not getting my tutu dirty – you just never know when a burst of glitter might fly.

I decided to host a special "Pink Tutu-fied" afternoon tea in my hometown, where I sold my lovingly-made pink tutu-themed cookies and cupcakes. It was so much fun, like a pink-hued fairytale. Everyone had a great time, from little ones who squealed with delight over the tutu-shaped marshmallows to grandmas rocking some seriously awesome tutus they brought along to share. The money from the bake sale was just enough to help me get to Llanelli!

Now, back to the Llanelli extravaganza. The journey there was a total joy ride. I traveled in style – by train! Yes, I’m not just talking any train, I'm talking the grand railway that’s full of luxury, velvet seats, and impeccable service. Oh, and they let me take my sparkly bag and pink parasol onboard – no judging, it's a travel necessity. I felt like royalty, and what’s better than royal transportation?

Upon arriving in Llanelli, I knew I had to dive headfirst into the local scene. A fabulous pink flamingo hat (oh, yes, I've a hat collection too, duh) kept my crown of pink hair warm and protected from the Welsh winds. We are talking the ultimate glamour of pink, think candy floss, fairy floss, whatever you like to call it!

Now, there was no way I was going to miss out on some serious shopping. Llanelli’s town centre was full of shops full of potential pink additions to my wardrobe. (As if I don't have enough shoes!) I felt like a child in a sweet shop! I was, however, very careful not to get too caught up, the trip was for performance. And a serious dance. And I need my tutus!

My performances at the local market and a few private functions (let's just say some local businesses went tutu-mad!), were simply phenomenal. People were dancing along, little kids squealed with glee, and even the old gentlemen in their Sunday suits were giving me knowing nods. That, my dears, is the magic of tutus! They bring everyone together in a beautiful, pink embrace.

I was truly blown away by the warm welcome I received in Llanelli. I mean, it wasn't just the people's smiles and cheers, although they were delightful. No, what I was blown away by was how seriously my performances were taken. The audience, from toddlers to pensioners, knew that my drag act, even if it involved some glitter and sparkles, is about so much more than just putting on a funny costume and showing off. It's about embracing your inner self, breaking down barriers, and spreading joy wherever you go!

Of course, no trip to Wales is complete without a trip to the beach! So, there I was, pink tutu twirling on the beach at Pembrey. The sun shone on the sand, the seagulls squawked, and I felt that overwhelming sense of pink perfection.

And as I was twirling, a child came up to me with her dad and looked up at me, her eyes wide with wonder. I've gotta say, being stared at is not something I particularly like as Alex but, oh, Pink Tutu Sparkles can handle anything! She whispered, "Do you think I can wear a pink tutu?"

"You can wear any tutu you want!" I said. It was a proud moment, the reason I'm on this journey. "Tutus are for everyone."

Then her father smiled at me, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "I don't think my husband would like me to try one on!" He laughed and winked at me, and, hey, this was the man from Llanelli, I just gave him a nod, my face a polite mask for I thought about all the husbands in Derbyshire.

It's the stories, little ones and dads with husbands, the little interactions, the genuine smiles that make all this effort worthwhile. It was like this magic pink tutu dust had touched them, their faces lighting up with joy, even just for a little moment.

It’s moments like these, that remind me, that I'm on the right track, that my crazy mission, to get everyone to wear a pink tutu, isn’t so crazy after all. It’s about spreading joy, encouraging individuality, and just generally making the world a bit more pink.

So, thank you Llanelli, for embracing my glittery, sparkly, pink-tutu-fied dreams, and, thank you, as always, to all of you for joining me on this ride. Keep twirling, my darlings, keep twirling! Until next time,

Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖✨
