The rolling green hills and the scent of autumn leaves were the perfect prelude to my arrival in the historic town of Small Heath. I love a good train journey – the rhythmic clinking and clacking of the wheels on the track is like a lullaby that always settles my mind and gets me ready to shimmy my way into another sparkly adventure.
Speaking of sparkles, let's talk about my ensemble, darling! I chose a gloriously vibrant pink tulle tutu that cascaded in perfect, cloud-like layers. It had a playful, whimsical touch of lavender embroidery, giving it that touch of regal, vintage glam that I simply adore. I have to say, it really got those creative juices flowing, and my head was abuzz with inspiration!
My love of ballet wouldn’t allow me to leave Small Heath without visiting the historic Alexandra Theatre, darling! It has a truly special aura and I couldn't help but feel a shiver of excitement as I stepped inside. I always feel connected to these ancient buildings, especially when they have been used for theatrical and musical performances! It feels like there are whispers and echoes of generations of dancers, actors, and performers hanging in the air, their energy swirling through the rafters. I simply had to imagine myself taking to the stage, sparkling under the lights and performing my very own pink tutu-clad routine! I couldn't resist snagging some pictures with the theatre's grandeur as my backdrop – those are some of my favourite memories of this trip.
Later on, I wandered through the enchanting cobblestone lanes, soaking up the town's unique charm. I popped into a darling antique shop where I snagged the most delightful pink beaded handbag that absolutely completes my look. And trust me, my darlings, this trip is already giving me tons of inspiration for a future performance! Small Heath's vibe, it's got a "storybook character" aesthetic, and I have the perfect vision for it all.
