Newton Aycliffe: A Pink Tutu Paradise! 🩰💖

Hey darlings! It’s your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in from the enchanting town of Newton Aycliffe! This is post number 6951 for those keeping track, and yes, I know it's a rather lovely number! 😉 Let's just say I’m sparkling with excitement, and you’ll see why in a minute… but first, let’s catch up!

As you all know, my life is pretty much a whirlwind of tutus, travel, and sequins! Being a drag queen is a seriously glamorous, exhausting, and wonderful life. This week I've been hoofing it around the UK, spreading the good word of pink tutus. Trust me, people love the tutu, you just need to give it a go! Last week I even found myself on a horse in Leicestershire, thanks to the very kind owner of the pub I performed in – talk about a fairytale entrance! Horses and pink tutus, it doesn’t get any better than that!

I have to tell you, you’d be surprised by how many places a pink tutu takes you. From the backstreets of Manchester to the stately halls of Somerset, every place I visit becomes my very own Pink Tutu Paradise! Today I'm here in Newton Aycliffe, and oh my darling, this place is absolutely blooming with sparkly energy. I haven’t stopped smiling since I arrived.

This journey started early, as usual, with a little dance party in the bathroom! Yes, every day is a chance to bust out your inner prima ballerina, even if it’s just for the toothbrush. A few twirls with the fairy lights twinkling, and suddenly I was ready to tackle the day! I was in a mood to see the world in pink, so of course I chose my favourite train, the pink one! Yes, you read that right! This train just happened to have a pink carriage – and I've found out that there's even a website for those of you looking to travel in style and colour. (Oh the wonders of the internet! Let's give it a big, glittery round of applause! claps and twirls)

You see, I’m a huge fan of train travel, mostly because I find it the best way to fully appreciate the scenery. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you’ll even see the sparkles in the passing landscape! Plus, you get to sit down in a chair that feels like it belongs in a fancy ballet school! Who wouldn’t want to spend hours gazing at fields, houses, and sometimes cows while pretending they are stage props?

After a truly magical train journey, we finally reached Newton Aycliffe! And the moment I stepped onto the platform… Well, the air sparkled! Honestly, this place is straight out of a fairytale, with charming cobbled streets, flower-laden balconies, and all the colour! My darling, I’m already making plans to move here!

My first stop had to be The Unicorn Hotel. It just screams out ‘tutu party’ from every inch! I love their motto, ‘It's where your imagination runs wild’. This hotel actually had sparkles all over its facade and the decor! I think it’s actually part of the original Victorian fabric, or maybe it’s just extra sparkle!

Now, where should I tell you about first, The Enchanted Garden or the afternoon tea? Okay, okay, the afternoon tea was pure delight! Everything about it, the pink crockery, the miniature finger sandwiches with tiny, glittering crusts, and those beautiful cupcakes! I almost couldn't believe I could actually consume those edible works of art. Luckily I was wearing a tutu so my expanding waistline wouldn't be a worry.

The Enchanted Garden at the Unicorn is absolutely incredible, you guys! Think fountains and manicured hedges – imagine, my lovelies, a garden with enough sparkle to rival a drag queen!

Of course, while I’m here, I had to make a quick trip to The Town Hall – the centre of all things Newton Aycliffe! Did you know that Newton Aycliffe is known as ‘The Town that Grew Up’? It's so inspiring – a community that blossomed from the ashes of a historic event. And you can definitely see it in its architecture and history.

Oh darling, I have so much to tell you about my time here in Newton Aycliffe, I feel like it’s an entirely different world, yet at the same time so close to my heart! It reminds me so much of my home in Derbyshire. I’m thinking that everyone needs a bit of that ‘Town that Grew Up’ in their life – the energy here is absolutely contagious!

Anyway, that’s all for now. I’m off to do a sparkly performance, maybe try the tea cakes at the Unicorn, or visit the Town Hall once again! And who knows? Maybe you’ll even find me having tea in The Enchanted Garden!

Don’t forget to pop over to www.pink-tutu.com to see what other adventures are in store, darlings! Until next time, keep the faith in pink tutus and may your day sparkle just as brightly as your spirit!

Much love, Pink Tutu Sparkles x
