This week, we're waltzing our way through the breathtaking Lake District, because it's time for Kendal Calling Festival! ✨ As your resident Tutu Queen, I simply couldn't miss a chance to share some sparkles and high kicks in this beautiful part of the world.
You see, this post is actually number 7194 for me! That's over 7,000 days of dazzling you with all things tutu and sharing my adventures with you, from the bright lights of the stage to the charming villages of Derbyshire. I love how this journey started, you know. Just a little bit of pink tulle, a whole lot of sparkle, and suddenly my life went from testing fabrics in a lab to rocking out in a pink tutu on a stage!
I still have my lab coat and pipette handy (science never leaves you!), but I must say, my Tutu Queen crown definitely has become the more popular accessory lately! 👑
But I digress! Kendal Calling has been a delightful whirl of excitement! I think my tutu and I have absolutely embraced the whole "Lake District" theme this weekend. Just picture it: A giant pink tutu swirling through the scenic landscapes, dancing to the sounds of the festival. That was basically me! 😂
You know, I always say, "Life is a stage, and a pink tutu makes it infinitely more fabulous!" 💫
And speaking of stages, let me tell you, Kendal Calling was bursting with talent. I took in some brilliant live music – I especially enjoyed the folky sounds of [insert band name here]. And you just know there were tons of colourful costumes and outfits going on - some would even give me a run for my money! 😄 But let's be real, when it comes to pink tutus, nobody can beat me, darling. Nobody.
Between the music, the sights, and the delightful laughter of everyone around me, Kendal Calling was an absolute dream. You wouldn't believe how many people approached me just to compliment my tutu! One even tried to copy my signature "Tutu twirl", which brought the biggest smile to my face. 😊
The local artists were just as much a part of the magic, too. My eyes were glued to a watercolour painting of a majestic waterfall - so beautiful! The festival's craft stalls were a riot of creativity, and I snagged some fab handmade earrings in a rainbow of colours. ✨
Now, the food! I’m a sucker for delicious food and, of course, my favorite - pink lemonade, (which is hard to find, you'd be amazed!) I spotted some brilliant, homemade cakes in one stall, topped with an abundance of candy and frosting, I swear it could have rivaled my pink tulle creation. (Not to mention I almost had to buy it all...!) 😂 I have to say the aroma of roasted nuts and grilled meats wafting through the air also added to the festive charm. We all need a little bit of good food to make any event a little extra special.
You see, it’s more than just the destination for me - it’s the journey too! So when it comes to travelling to Kendal, there's nothing like a scenic train ride. I love to relax, watch the landscape flash by, and daydream about the fun that awaits. But the best part, for a proper Tutu Queen like me? There's room in the luggage rack for all of my tulle and sequins! 👗 And for you, dear readers, never underestimate the joy of travelling with a tutu. (Though I always get my travel tutu expertly packed so I don't need to worry! ).
And that brings me to my favourite part - it's all about getting everyone in a pink tutu! Kendal Calling really encouraged the festival atmosphere, and I found a couple of kindred spirits - people willing to try on tutus! 😂 They looked a bit awkward at first, but then, as soon as the music kicked in, it was like their inner tutu queen awoke. Who knows? Maybe, just maybe, I inspired them to start their own tutu journeys! Wouldn't that be just the most fabulous thing?
In fact, let’s face it, I’m convinced that pink tutus hold a magical power! 💖 I've witnessed it myself. The instant a person steps into a pink tutu, their confidence soars. Their smiles grow brighter. They dance a little more freely. And who doesn't love a little extra freedom?
I love meeting people, and Kendal Calling allowed me to do just that, spreading my message of tutu joy with every twirl. 😄 You know, my true goal isn't just to get everyone in a pink tutu, it’s about showing the world that you can be fabulous and true to yourself, no matter what your day job is. Even scientists in their labs are allowed to unleash their inner queen. And if it takes a pink tutu to get people there? Well, let’s just say that's one experiment I’m happy to conduct!
