Hello darlings! It’s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the fabulous, oh-so-charming Kenton, and this is post number 7421 for you lovelies!
Ooh, the excitement is palpable, like a fresh batch of sugared pink frosting! I’ve just arrived by train - choo choo! - to this vibrant, bustling town and my Tutu radar is tingling with anticipation. I love those long journeys through the British countryside; all that green rolling countryside, those pretty quaint villages – it always makes me think about ballet and swirling tutus.
I just know Kenton’s going to be a whirl of pink-tastic adventures, especially after the glorious email I received from my sweet friend, Mrs. Crumpet. She runs a beautiful antique shop with the most enchanting, eclectic collection – a pink-loving queen’s dream! And did I mention that it’s just down the road from the town’s very own grand theatre? Ooh, darling, just imagine - pink tutus in a theatre… cue the sparkles!
Kenton is also blessed with a fabulous little cafe – all wicker furniture and dainty floral decorations – that serves a divine raspberry cheesecake. I can’t resist that gorgeous crimson and pink combination, perfect for this vibrant Queen on the go.
Speaking of gorgeous combinations, can I just tell you how fabulously fun my latest trip to London was? Honestly, it was just chef’s kiss. A mix of elegant vintage markets and thrilling ballet performances; the Bolshoi company was absolutely sensational - I practically wanted to leap onto the stage myself! Thankfully I didn't, although my friend Prudence gave me the most worried look, as I tried to shimmy to the rhythm of the music on my seat - you just can't help it when you're surrounded by the beautiful poetry of ballet! It just takes me right back to my university days. Those were the days! I remember joining the ballet club as a freshman. I was all scientific and logical - still am, of course, since I’m a lab technician by day, but in that club, everything felt just right – a perfect, almost magical balance.
Speaking of balance, darling, can you believe I tried on a tutu for the first time right there in that student club? They were having a fundraising auction. It was a bit of a laugh at first – my friends wouldn't let me forget the photos, bless their souls – but that’s the day I realised how absolutely fabulously magical a tutu truly was.
And let’s face it - who wouldn’t feel a little bit magical twirling in a fluffy, pastel-hued explosion of joy? And for you lovelies out there who don't feel confident, just let go of all those "what will they think?" thoughts - embrace the inner-queen, throw on a tutu and join me in celebrating everything pink and fantastic!
Right now, I’m buzzing with anticipation to visit those antiques - maybe Mrs. Crumpet will have a pink tulle that perfectly matches my new ballet shoes. It’s been a long time since I got a new pair! But no worries, darlings! The local fabric market is only a few steps from my hotel – the little pink and white one next to the train station… with the flower shop window… right near the tea shop … do you get the picture?! My head’s spinning, it’s just SO glamorous.
I might pop into that fabulously flamboyant theatre later. A ballet show might inspire me, you know. Sometimes, it’s the perfect way to gather all the sparkle and get those creative juices flowing for the next big Pink Tutu Sparkles production. Maybe tonight, I’ll channel the energy of that Bolshoi show. They have the most breathtaking movements; it's pure artistry - those tutus swirling on stage….
Speaking of inspiration, I actually took my latest horse ride last week just to clear my head. Now, I'm a real girl from Derbyshire you know, and what is more quintessentially English than a good old countryside horse ride? Nothing is quite as meditative and peaceful – just the sound of horse hooves clicking on the ground… a perfect backdrop to think up a fantastic outfit… a new costume… an absolutely breathtaking new pink tutu look! It really puts you in touch with your artistic side, like when you’re watching the world spin from those fabulous high kicks!
