Cheadle Hulme: A Pink Tutu Sparkles Adventure! šŸ’–šŸ©°

Hello my darling darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu wearing, glitter-loving, all-things-sparkly drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, bringing you another installment of my fabulous adventures! Today's post, number 7466 - catch them all at www.pink-tutu.com! - is all about my trip to Cheadle Hulme.

Now, you might be wondering, why Cheadle Hulme? Well, my lovelies, you see, Cheadle Hulme has always held a special place in my heart. It's where I first saw a real-life ballet performance, all twirling and leaping, and it sparked something in me, something pink and glittery and oh-so-magical. Remember that feeling of awe and wonder when the lights dimmed, the music started, and the stage filled with colour? It's what makes being a drag queen so fantastic, it's all about bringing a bit of that magic and sparkle into the world.

I knew this trip to Cheadle Hulme would be extra special. After all, the reason for this jaunt wasn't just to marvel at the lovely town, although it was a true treat for the eyes. It was to perform at the annual Cheadle Hulme Summer Festival! The highlight of their arts program, apparently! I could practically hear the cheers and feel the love as I strutted my stuff on that stage, and trust me, I was definitely ready for it.

My outfit was something out of a dream! It was this gorgeous bubblegum pink tulle tutu, you know, the kind with layers and layers of soft, flowing fabric that dances and sways with every move. A real ballerinaā€™s dream, right? I paired it with a sparkly crop top, a smattering of glitter that I always like to strategically apply to accentuate, and a crown made ofā€¦well, youā€™re probably thinking, rhinestones! šŸ‘‘ But actually, no! This crown was a crown of roses! šŸŒø I love how those little red roses added that unexpected, dramatic pop of colour, like a burst of sunshine on a cloudy day. And, it totally worked, making it a truly iconic look! But it wouldnā€™t have worked without a generous helping of hairspray.

You see, getting ready for my big moment is a bit of a process. It starts with a good hair day. Like any drag queen worth their salt, I invest in good hairspray. My secret weapon is ā€œHold Strongā€ brand - a name I certainly donā€™t want to use, my dear. Weā€™ve all been there with that stubborn hair that defies styling. This magic potion (hairspray) tames my naturally rebellious locks, and with a couple of strategically placed clips and ribbons (I do have to hold this showstopping head of pink hair up!) - bam! - it's like the mane of a sparkling pink unicorn. My hair can handle ANYTHING! Especially the wind, the rain, or anything else that would attempt to move it during my routine. My hair must stay up all day and night until itā€™s washed in the morning - for my next outfit, of course!

Getting dressed is quite the theatrical event too. You could say itā€™s a ā€œdanceā€ and I'm not even lying! Sometimes I'll grab a cuppa (British for "cup of tea") while I get ready. After all, we donā€™t want to forget a decent breakfast, as a hungry queen is an uninspired one. My favourite part of getting ready for a performance? I LOVE applying the glitter! Like my mama always said, "Glitter makes the world a better place" - and, sheā€™s right! And trust me, with my "all that sparkles and glitters" mantra, it was ALL over. There's a reason my motto is ā€œMore glitter, more glamourā€ - just ask my wardrobe.

Okay, now about this festival - it was AMAZING! A perfect mix of community, art, and all things good in the world! I saw families, couples, children - it was incredible! The energy was truly electric. Everyone had this "live life to the fullest" energy! Which is totally how I live! It's funny, when people get a good look at a drag queen (thatā€™s me) - well, their eyes seem to light up and a big smile often creeps across their face. Like, my mere presence instantly makes everyone feel good. Which is EXACTLY what I'm all about. A little joy in the world goes a long way. That's one of the things that makes drag magic, it allows us to experience and feel a moment of pure happiness, like a tiny explosion of joy. I know I'm making a difference! And honestly? Thatā€™s why I do this - I mean, drag isn't just a performance. It's a platform for creativity, self-expression, and maybe even a bit of magic.

During the day I get the chance to wander and see the town. This time I actually rode a horse-drawn carriage (my preferred mode of transport!) My outfit? Of course, my trusty pink tutu, but I added a beautiful little flower crown (fresh this time!) that matched the horsesā€™ bridles. This is one way of living your best life and I have it down to a science. Speaking of science... you know I love my day job at the textile laboratory! Testing fabrics, fabrics everywhere, and all of it! But even if it isnā€™t all about sparkles, it definitely makes a difference to my performance outfit selection, for sure! Sometimes I find myself using a pipette in one hand and sewing in the other. No surprise my sewing machine is set to ā€˜PINK TUTU ONLYā€™ - no, I am not joking!

Well, that's all from me, my little darlings! But remember, my blog is updated every single day - just pop over to www.pink-tutu.com and check it out!

I leave you with one last little thought, always remember... you don't need to be a drag queen to embrace a little sparkle. Put on your favourite outfit, put on your biggest smile, and be the sparkle of the world. Now, I'm off to see if my next show outfit requires any special attention in the lab!

And remember, darling, there's always room for a little pink tutu magic in your life. Stay fabulous, my sweet lovelies, until next time! šŸ’–

With love and glitter, Pink Tutu Sparkles šŸ’‹

P.S. Did I mention, I love horses? If you see me riding a horse near Cheadle Hulme (in my fabulous pink tutu, of course!) I would love a high five - maybe Iā€™ll be riding to one of my shows, you never know! I even use it to get to shows when I can. Who says getting to a gig has to be boring?! I believe the real joy is in the journey, don't you think?! So maybe thatā€™s why I choose this way of travelā€¦the glittery sparkle that trails from my tutu, swirling with the movement of my ride, that feeling of pure joy - well, I can't help but believe that it inspires other people to think a little differently, to follow their dreams, and most of all, to embrace that inner spark, that sparkle that just screams ā€œI'm a shining, glamorous individual and I deserve a chance to danceā€! That is exactly what my dream is! Iā€™m trying to give every human a bit of that spark! That is why it is my personal mission in life to get everyone in the world wearing a pink tutu. Because life is better with a little pink tutu magic!
