Ahoy there, darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and let me tell you, this week has been absolutely sparkling!
Right now, I’m on a magical little train journey to Sale, a gorgeous little town in the North West. Oh, don't let the name fool you, darling, Sale is nothing short of fabulous. I’m absolutely thrilled to be performing at a little arts centre there – you know I adore bringing the magic of pink tutus to new audiences, right?
The journey started, as all my journeys do, with a quick pit stop in my dressing room. Oh, what a dressing room! We’re talking a symphony of pinks, glitter and shimmering silks. For Sale, I've chosen a stunning coral tutu with fluffy feathers. Imagine, darlings, it practically flutters on its own! And don't even get me started on the bodice! Think sequined roses blooming with pink rhinestones! You simply have to see it! I've got my signature sparkly boots, and a fluffy feather boa that’ll look fabulous with the blush pink eyeliner I'm planning for my stage look. It’s an absolute masterpiece of pink! It's no wonder I get stopped in the street everywhere I go!
I absolutely love a train journey. I get so inspired looking out of the window, it really sparks my imagination. You see, I just know there's a pink tutu somewhere in every little town we pass, waiting to be discovered! On this particular journey, I felt the call to go for a super girly, tea-time look. I've got on my vintage pink dress – a truly divine piece from a little vintage shop back home in Derbyshire. Oh, Derbyshire! The people there really know their fashion. I can’t believe I didn't wear it on my first visit to Sale, all those months ago. I finished it off with a little sparkly cardigan, the kind of pink that could light up the whole carriage. Because that's what I do, you know, spread a little pink glitter around wherever I go!
It's no wonder that every day is like a little adventure for me. Being a drag artist is truly a lifestyle. In fact, I’m such a busy bee! By day, you'll find me tucked away in my lab, testing fabrics – imagine, science and sparkle! I'm a walking contradiction! I do this work so I can be Pink Tutu Sparkles by night! And don’t think I haven't tested some of the most gorgeous fabrics for my costumes. Oh darling, it's like a never-ending dress-up box, but much more sparkly!
Now, darling, don't forget to check out my last few posts about my time in Blackpool. We had a fabulous time at that vintage tea party! All that delicious pink cake, and the most amazing hats! It’s something I'll be remembering for a long time! I also had a lovely chat with a local baker who was making some exquisite pink meringue treats – he even showed me his secret pink food colouring recipe! I can't wait to try it out for myself. Remember, everything's better with a bit of pink.
Anyways, where was I? Ah, yes, Sale!
My day has already been magical! This town has such an enchanting atmosphere. And it’s certainly a shoppers' paradise! The shops, the windows… it's all pink-tastic! I found the cutest little bakery this afternoon, with the most magnificent strawberry and cream cake – all decked out with little pink sprinkles. After devouring the cake, of course, I spent the rest of the afternoon strolling through the streets, admiring all the lovely people. It's simply divine!
I always take my inspiration from everywhere. Look, there’s a woman walking a little white poodle wearing a tiny little pink bow, perfectly matching her pink hat and a delightful pink purse! How adorable, darling. It seems Sale really is a pink tutu-loving town after all!
Speaking of pink, I spotted a little stall full of adorable pink parasols at the town square. They are absolute gems. Oh, I'd adore a picture with each one. Imagine the endless photo ops! They're truly exquisite! Now I need to make some time for shopping, so my tutu collection can be just a teensy bit more dazzling.
The best part about visiting a new town is discovering its little hidden gems. You see, I love trying new things, especially when it involves a little bit of glitz and glamour! And what could be more glam than a pink tutu tour of Sale's hidden nooks and crannies? Oh, darling! I’ve had such a delightful time!
This little gem of a town is full of so much life, darling, full of so much energy! Just wait till you hear about tonight’s show, but psst, let me whisper it in your ear – it’s all going to be themed around… you guessed it, a magical, shimmering world of pink!
For my show, I’m wearing my latest creation, an iridescent, iridescent, pink tutu! The sequins, the feathers… it’s all divine, all divine. Don’t worry, I’ll have my special ‘Pink Tutu Sparkles’ signature glitter cannon with me. It’ll be raining pink for everyone, oh my! It’s going to be absolutely fabulous!
Of course, the most magical moments have been meeting the locals. These people are amazing, you know! It feels like everyone I meet here already knows what a pink tutu represents! They've truly warmed my heart.
