Hey loves!
Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and guess what? It's time for another travel blog, because yours truly is off on a new adventure, and this one's got a whole lot of pink in it (just the way I like it, duh)!
This time, my darling tutu-loving friends, I'm taking a trip to the beautiful coastal town of Hartlepool! You'll never guess how I'm getting there… you got it, by train! There's just something so romantic and magical about train journeys. You know, gazing out the window at the rolling hills, and sipping on a little tea, surrounded by all the excitement of a journey to somewhere new... chefs kiss.
But before we hop on board, let's get right to the reason for this trip, which you'll already know from my cheeky post title: the incredible ballet performance going down in Hartlepool! I am a self-proclaimed balletomane, I mean, I'm even obsessed with ballet street… I love the flowing grace of the dancers, the dramatic storylines and costumes, and all those beautiful, delicate movements that make me want to twirl my way straight out the door. So imagine my excitement when I found out about this fantastic production happening right in this coastal haven!
But honestly, this trip isn't just about the ballet, oh no. Hartlepool is a destination in its own right, and I’m already planning a full-on Pink Tutu extravaganza while I'm there! Now, I've gotta tell you, a few of my followers on Pink-Tutu.com have already whispered about Hartlepool, suggesting it’s the perfect spot for a photo-op. One girl even mentioned a stunning promenade with pink beach huts! I mean, can you imagine the tutu pictures?! And, I swear I saw a photograph somewhere of some beautiful architecture with arches – it looked like the ideal location for a few shots in a new sparkly number! (Did you see my new tulle-trimmed outfit from the amazing independent boutique "Taffy's"? You have to check it out! It's so bright and so fabulous!)
Speaking of photoshoots, I'm thinking of capturing some gorgeous shots for my new tutu calendar. Have you seen the one for next year?! My good friend Penny Stitches has been helping me out, creating a calendar bursting with all my favourite outfits – you're going to love it. Oh, and have I told you I've designed a new collection? You haven't? Well, keep your peepers peeled, I'm planning a big unveiling soon! And, just maybe, you can catch a glimpse of some new creations on this little adventure... ;)
I've even been busy on the travel side of things! Did I mention the trip by train? Honestly, it's just so elegant and refined, not to mention more sustainable and kinder to our environment than a car. But you know me, I just adore horses and all their beauty. So, I might just take a spin on a beautiful thoroughbred while I’m there – it just feels like the ultimate graceful way to experience this new place. I have just the stunning, oversized tulle pink bow for my riding outfit! Can’t wait!
Speaking of grace, I simply must take a trip to the Hartlepool Museum, to see the amazing display about the history of this coastal town, especially the story about The Hartlepool Monkey. I love discovering historical facts like that! Oh, and did I tell you about the ancient monastery nearby? Well, I will be posting photos from there because I love to visit historical buildings. I actually did a little science project on building design in my degree back in the day – it's so fascinating! I can see me getting a lot of inspiration for new looks. And with the beautiful architecture and coastline, there's sure to be no end of photogenic moments!
The performance I'm going to see is "Swan Lake," you guys – the ultimate ballet classic. How exciting! I've even gone to great lengths (including getting up extra early in the morning!) to research some information about the local performance – you’ve got to love my dedication to spreading the love of dance, right? I might even post a pre-show video to give you a little glimpse of my anticipation!
Of course, what would any of this be without a little shopping? Hartlepool might not be as bustling with designer boutiques as London, but I bet I can find some amazing hidden gems, with the right dose of luck, of course! And since I'm on a bit of a budget, this little journey also comes with some shopping challenges, like finding some fabulous but affordable accessories to spice up my outfits. That means a trip to a local charity shop - those are great for unique finds, and always a great excuse to shop with purpose, and maybe a few pounds can go towards supporting their incredible cause!
Now, you know me, I’m all about making sure I look my best. A pink tutu for this journey just wouldn’t be complete without some gorgeous sparkly accessories. I think it's going to be a combination of my favourite neon pink butterfly clip for my hair with an elegant sparkling black bow, and of course, a fabulously big pink tutu… you know, the one that catches all the attention! I'm still deciding whether it should be a voluminous poufy one, or a more dramatic fitted look. Hmmm, what do you think, darling? Which should it be? Leave your advice in the comments below!
