Morden: Pink Tutu Sparkles' Magical Mayhem in a Tutu-tastic Tour

Hey lovelies! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Queen, back with another post! I'm currently bursting with excitement and glitter, because I've just had the most fabulously fun weekend trip to Morden! 💅💃🎉 This is post number 7886 on the www.pink-tutu.com website.

As a huge fan of everything sparkly and pink (and a tad obsessed with tutus), you'll not be surprised to learn that my trip to Morden was centred around ballet. This time, though, it wasn't just about watching those graceful ballerinas twirl and leap – I actually got to join them in the studio!

My weekend started with a long, luxurious train journey. There’s something so magical about travelling by train – all that whistling and chugging! My fellow passengers seemed charmed by my flamboyant attire - it's amazing how a fluffy pink tutu and some strategically placed sequins can transform a train carriage into a runway!

Arriving at Morden, I felt a wave of anticipation. It's one of those towns that you just know has some great hidden gems – the kind of place where you can feel a buzz of creativity in the air!

My first port of call was The Dance Centre, a beautifully vibrant building that hosted my "Tutus for Everyone" workshop! The centre had huge mirrors everywhere - brilliant for some pre-performance pouting practice and twirling! I’m pretty sure I spotted my pink feathered boa reflecting back at me in every mirror in that place!

Before we even got started, I realised this workshop wasn’t just a ballet lesson; it was an absolute party! We had a fabulous group of all ages ready to twirl in pink! There were some budding ballet stars, some curious beginners, a couple of dads, even a gran or two. Everyone, though, had a smile on their face. It's lovely to see people coming together through ballet. As I led the class in some fabulous tutus, I saw those anxieties melt away - replaced with pure joy.

That night, I decided to really indulge in the local life - a proper Morden evening - so I treated myself to a beautiful pink feather boa, bought a bright pink bouquet from the local flower shop (the perfect compliment to my pink ensemble!), and then headed to The Crown Inn for a delicious homemade meal. They do a lovely fish and chips – a true British classic. And of course, a little pink drink - a “pink sparkle” - for the occasion, wouldn't you know it?

You won't be surprised that Sunday was all about the ballet! I donned my favourite tulle skirt and feather boa, slung my pink glitter bag over my shoulder and off I went! The local theatre, the Morden Empire was the most beautiful venue I’d ever seen - so glamorous! I found a spot on the front row – yes, that close to the action and the stage!

The performance was magical. I sat with a huge grin plastered on my face throughout. Every single ballerina was absolutely divine! But what made this performance truly special were the costumes! They were like nothing I'd seen before, a symphony of pinks, oranges and coral, each one a swirling delight of feather, beads, and lace! They brought me back to the time I wore a tutu for the first time…

For you see, darling, back in my days as a science student, it was an unlikely tutu that got me hooked on this fabulous pink world! As a science student at Nottingham University, I used to take part in the annual student charity fundraiser, and we were collecting for an organisation called ‘Tutus for Tomorrow.’

There I was - a scientist by day, in my lab coat, surrounded by test tubes, measuring fabric and creating solutions! Then at night I’d find myself in this amazing world of ballet, of silk and glitter. I actually got to try on one of the tutus - it was a beautiful deep purple number – a bit like a modern day Cinderella moment.

Back in my lab the next morning I thought about the tutu – a perfect circle, elegant, free flowing. My favourite pink lab coat looked completely uninspired suddenly.

The tutu made me want to wear pink, and not just in the lab.

Now I wear it every single day, as Pink Tutu Sparkles, a fabulously pink drag artist - dancing my way across the country and bringing some joy along the way.

My mission? To get everyone wearing pink tutus.

You can call it crazy, but it's something I passionate about. Why? Because a tutu can change your outlook on life. It can bring a smile to your face. It can make you feel like you can fly!

My pink tutu has opened up a world of creativity and fun that I never thought possible and I’m so grateful. That was all thanks to that one special charity tutu event.

And if a tutu can do that for a science student, it can do it for anyone!

I’m on a mission to spread the pink tutu love far and wide! Will you join me?

I love hearing from all of you, darlings, so don’t be shy to send a message to my website - www.pink-tutu.com

And remember to spread a little pink tutu joy to everyone you meet! 💖✨

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖✨
