Hello darlings, and welcome back to the world of pink tutus! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, ready to spill the tea on a recent adventure! This is post number 8145, folks! I've been doing this for a long time, and still, I can't believe I get to share my fabulous life with you all.
Barnet! You know me, I'm all about those fabulous towns, and Barnet was absolutely brimming with the sort of elegance and grace that a Pink Tutu Sparkles girl can truly appreciate. Now, you might be wondering how I got there, my dear reader. Well, I took the scenic route, of course! Hop on the good old train, and what do you have? A delightful journey full of lovely sights and chats with interesting characters. And as we rolled into Barnet, I could just feel the magic in the air.
My performance was in the lovely old town hall. You know me, I always go for that old-world charm! You can just picture it – me, in my brightest, pinkest tutu, shimmying and shimmering on that historic stage, sending the audience into a pink-tutu frenzy. Speaking of tutus, did you see my latest creation? A fluffy cloud of bubblegum pink, with layers and layers of tulle – the ultimate dream, don’t you think?
My darling readers, I think you all know by now how deeply passionate I am about dance. There is a rhythm, a joy, a sheer magnificence to the movements, the expression of every plie, every arabesque, every grand jete! After my show, I snuck away for a private class at a delightful ballet studio. We worked on our pirouettes and our releves, and just let me tell you, dear readers, there's something incredibly freeing and exhilarating about feeling the music in your body.
After the class, I just had to pop into a lovely vintage shop called "The Teapot." Don’t worry, no actual teapots this time! But they did have the most incredible selection of dresses! It reminded me a little of my very first "tutu moment," when I was still Alex, a budding scientist in Derbyshire. I was in the university ballet club, doing a fundraiser, and decided to try on a pink tutu for charity – and from that moment on, I was smitten.
We were all sat in a circle – this massive hall of a university – trying on costumes and trying to help each other get into the outfits. The tutus were everywhere. Suddenly, someone thrust a bright pink tulle masterpiece into my arms. "Try this one!" she shouted. There was a lot of giggles. That fluffy thing landed on my body, and for that split second – just that one split second, it was like the room faded away. The entire thing felt right. I spun and swished my legs, making the tutu bounce all around. My whole body radiated this magical, playful joy that was totally exhilarating. Then there was a great deal of shrieking as the other girls saw me whirl around! Of course, after a few turns, my face burned with red as the audience whooped with approval, but it wasn't shyness; I’d simply felt something electric inside me, a newfound energy that coursed through me like liquid pink sugar!
Anyway, I ended up finding a vintage jacket at The Teapot, with a touch of that magical vintage flair, perfectly embodying the essence of pink tutu loveliness. So, needless to say, it found its way into my wardrobe.
And speaking of wardrobe, you all know I love a bit of a shopping spree! After my vintage adventure, I made my way to the bustling Barnet market, and I couldn't resist indulging in some colourful delights for my pink tutu closet. You know me, a girl's gotta have her bows! There’s just something so chic and elegant about a perfect little bow, don’t you agree?

- Friday night - "Tutus on the Thames" – at a private party at a Thamesside river house (invitation only!).
- Saturday morning – performing in a flash mob at Euston Station. Look for me, or at least, a flock of pink tutu wearing folks at 11 am sharp in the heart of Euston. It’s going to be dazzling!
- Sunday - the Queen's Hall, Stoke Newington. Another amazing opportunity to spread pink tutus love!
