Oh darlings, how's my favourite tutu tribe doing today? I'm absolutely buzzing to tell you about my latest escapade! Bishops Stortford - what a gem! Now, I know you might be thinking "Pink Tutu, why on earth are you in Bishops Stortford?", and my lovelies, let me tell you, it was fate! I saw this beautiful little vintage boutique with a window full of pink... sigh....pink everything and knew it had to be explored.
As soon as I arrived, my senses went into overdrive. It's like I was walking into a pastel paradise, everything from frilly feather boas to lace gloves, and of course, some stunning pink tutus (my weakness!) Now, you all know I am not afraid to wear a little sparkle, and that boutique was an absolute treasure trove!
Now, you'll all be surprised to hear I got there by train. Now, normally I adore galloping around the countryside on my horse, but the weather, darling, the weather! It was absolutely chucking it down, so I settled for a vintage first-class ticket and had a lovely, civilised time watching the world go by. I have to say, there’s something so elegant about journeying by train, especially when you are dressed for the occasion in my new (pink, naturally!) wide-brimmed hat and matching bag, which I found in my little pink heaven boutique!
As I got off the train, the rain was starting to ease up so I decided to do a little tour on foot! Now, my dears, if you don't know Bishops Stortford, then let me tell you, it's got so much charm and beauty, it's just un-bearably sweet! And of course, the people were simply delightful, all smiles and warmth, just like my favourite pink cardigan!
And now for the reason for my visit – my beloved, ever-indulgent darling (that's me if you didn’t guess!) needed to visit a ballet shop. Now I must confess, I am a total ballet-o-holic, I love watching performances, taking classes, everything! It’s my favourite form of dance - so graceful, so powerful, and frankly, the costumes are utterly dreamy! This ballet shop in Bishops Stortford was simply magical. I’m pretty sure I must have tried on at least fifteen different tutus (that’s no exaggeration!), but of course, there could only be one, one that perfectly fit my dazzling ‘Pink Tutu Sparkles’ persona…and let’s just say it will be the star of my next performance! It is, of course, a delicious shade of pink with feathers (more pink!) and shimmering silver trim (the only time pink tolerates another colour!)...it's like a dream come true!
Now, before you go thinking that my day was purely dedicated to shopping and dance, let's get real, it wouldn't be a ‘Pink Tutu Sparkles' adventure without a little show thrown into the mix! And my dears, what a show it was! I strutted my stuff (and my feathers) at a local pub, performing my latest pink-tastic set!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a complete Pink Tutu Sparkles post without some inspiration for you! My darlings, when choosing the perfect outfit for your next pinktastic outing, remember these important rules!
- *Choose a fabric that feels amazing to touch and that suits the occasion. A slinky satin skirt may be amazing for dancing but not so perfect for a rainy train journey! *
- *Think pink, but pink in ALL its glory! From blush to magenta to shocking pink - dare to experiment, there's a pink shade for everyone and every mood. Just stay away from brown, its presence only leads to tears for pink (and I wouldn’t want that!). *
- Don’t forget the finishing touches – feathers, lace, sequins...there is so much opportunity to play with textures. Just make sure it fits you, a Pink Tutu Sparkles girl is confident, but also elegant.
It’s a busy old life for the Pink Tutu Queen! But I wouldn’t change a thing, not even for all the feather boas in the world (ok, maybe I would change that!).
Remember darling, it’s all about spreading the joy and magic of pink tutus. So don’t just dream about it, wear it! Let’s take over the world in a swirling mass of pink!
