First off, let's be honest, a trip to Hitchin wouldn't be complete without a trip to The Hitchin Lavender farm, right? Well, while it was a touch chilly for lavender to be blooming in February, it didn't stop this Tutu Queen from bringing the pink! You see, when Pink Tutu Sparkles goes anywhere, she goes ALL out, darling, and that includes a fluffy, pastel-pink ensemble with matching pom poms, no less! 😉
The lavender fields might have been quiet, but Hitchin market was positively bustling. Oh my god, you guys, I scored the most AMAZING pink scarf, totally covered in iridescent sequins! It practically vibrates with glitz. Trust this girl to find something shiny, even in a sleepy market town. 🤩
But wait, it gets better! This Tutu Queen is no stranger to a spot of dancing, and wouldn't you know it, Hitchin's got a fabulous little dance studio tucked away in a corner. Talk about fate! Now, this gal can't resist a bit of ballet, so naturally, I popped in and took a class, and let me tell you, those locals are serious about their pirouettes! I even had a chat with the owner, who just happens to be a former prima ballerina - seriously glamorous! 🩰
And if that wasn't enough, you wouldn't believe what happened next. My journey to Hitchin actually started with a beautiful train journey. As I settled in my window seat, admiring the English countryside whizzing by, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up and… well, who else but the most divine drag queen I've ever met! Talk about serendipitous! We chatted, we giggled, we shared a little bit of makeup and let's just say, the entire carriage was mesmerized. You know me, darling, I never go anywhere without my own sparkly face paint. ✨
So, how do you end a day like this? Well, Hitchin has a gem of a little theatre, and I found myself in the front row for a stunning performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream". The costumes, the music, the talent - I was mesmerized. The best bit? They had an entire scene dedicated to the fairyland! Cue a magical sprinkling of pixie dust, a little bit of tut tut dancing and an enormous shimmering pink flower! How could this Tutu Queen not be inspired?! 🧚♀️🌸
Hitchin, you have officially won a place in my pink sparkly heart. It was a perfect day for this Tutu Queen - full of colour, culture, and of course, pink!
But now, darlings, it's time to spread the message! Let's all bring some pink into our lives! I know a lot of you reading this may not be the biggest fans of tutus (yet, I mean it's all about getting there!), but even just a little touch of pink, maybe a scarf like mine, or even a simple pair of pink socks, can brighten up your day. A Bit About Your Tutu Queen... 👑
Before you go, allow me to share a little bit about yours truly, Pink Tutu Sparkles! I'm a 20-something Derbyshire girl who has always loved a good frock and a lot of fun!

By day, I work in a lab, putting my degree in Chemistry to good use, but by night, I put on my glitter and spread some joy with my Pink Tutu act. You see, my obsession with pink tutus all started with my uni ballet club. We were fundraising for new costumes, and I took a daring step - I tried on a pink tutu! It was an explosion of glitz and sunshine, and it honestly felt like my true calling!
Now, this is a Tutu Queen who travels in style! Trains are my jam - nothing like a good railway journey to spark a new adventure. If the tracks are taking a break, you can find me on horseback, gliding through the countryside with a grin on my face.
