Hello my darling dears! 💅💋 It’s your #TutuQueen here, back with another fabulous instalment in my pink-tastic adventures! It’s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, fresh off the train and ready to sparkle in the quaint, charming town of Coulsdon, Surrey. 🚄 As you know, I’m on a mission to make the world a more fabulous place, one pink tutu at a time, and this trip’s got a whole lotta glitter-tastic fun lined up. 💖
So, buckle up darlings, this post is post number 8503, and I promise you, this one is packed with fabulousness – think enchanting ballet performances, some serious outfit inspiration, and let’s not forget, a generous dose of Coulsdon's charm! 🥰
Now, you know my heart beats for ballet – and who better to perform for in Coulsdon than at their very own Coulsdon Ballet Centre?! This delightful centre hosts classes for all ages and abilities, from petite ballerinas to seasoned dance enthusiasts. It was an honour to meet with these passionate dancers – the energy was buzzing, and the talent? Absolutely mind-blowing. 🤯
Speaking of buzzing energy, Coulsdon has more than a fair share of lively markets that have caught my attention, like the fantastic Coulsdon Farmers’ Market. You can be sure this queen spotted some unique finds, all begging to be paired with a shimmering pink tutu – trust me, you'll have to check out my Instagram story for some seriously stylish snaps! ✨
Of course, no adventure is complete without a little taste of the local fare. Coulsdon did not disappoint with its quaint cafes and delightful tea rooms, each serving up exquisite homemade cakes and hearty meals - cough cough let’s just say this Queen had a delectable treat or two (or three!). 🍰 ☕️
And oh my, how could I possibly forget the pièce de résistance? I managed to secure a front-row seat at a mesmerizing ballet performance at Coulsdon’s charming and historic St. John’s Church. Watching these graceful dancers pirouette and leap across the stage in their tulle skirts… I was totally mesmerized, and it just solidified my belief: pink tutus are the most wonderful costume, full stop! 💖🩰
But, honey, you already know, my mission is more than just being a super-stylish drag queen. It’s about spreading a little bit of that pink tutu magic and joy wherever I go. 🌎 While in Coulsdon, I stumbled across an elderly lady on the streets, completely overwhelmed by a flock of pigeons. With a dash of my signature pink tutu sparkle, I helped gather the pesky birds and return them to their nests – and I can tell you, the gratitude in her eyes made the little flutter my heart flutter in turn! 🥰

A little bit about me: Pink Tutu Sparkles aka Alex! 💅🏼👑Ever since I was a kid, I was drawn to anything sparkly. I used to wear all sorts of homemade outfits and used my Dad’s fabric dye to colour everything in the rainbow, but especially pink! Growing up in the rolling hills of Derbyshire, my creative side blossomed, and I got really into dancing and performing – you’ll often find me with a graceful twirl and a pink tutu, and it’s what fuels my creativity to this very day!
I started performing as a drag queen as Pink Tutu Sparkles a little over four years ago and it’s been such an incredible journey. I’ve gotten to explore so many amazing locations and meet so many wonderful people – honestly, I'm so grateful for the support from my family, friends, and of course, all of you! 💖
You might not know this, but during the day, I'm actually a pretty normal scientist! (Not too many people believe that!). I'm a fabric chemist for a small firm based in Loughborough, but the minute I clock off, I turn back into my shimmering Pink Tutu persona – it’s been a secret until now but it’s the perfect way to combine my passion for both the natural world and my glamorous side! 🧪 ✨

From rocking out on stages in local village halls and festivals, to charming everyone I meet on trains and buses, the highlight of my day is when someone approaches me and asks: "How can I get my very own pink tutu?!" – It’s amazing! 🥰
This love for everything pink tutu is also reflected in how I fund these amazing travels. Each night, I can be found entertaining crowds with my bubbly drag act at pubs, weddings, festivals and fairs all over the UK. 🥂
But no matter how busy I am, I'm always excited for my next pink tutu adventure.
I love seeing the world through pink-tinted spectacles! You'll often find me hopping on a train – I love being on a train! - or taking my trusty horse, a fluffy grey Arab, called Misty, for a spin through the country lanes, a pink tutu adding just the right amount of extra fabulousness. 💕🐴
I also try to be as environmentally conscious as possible. I’m constantly finding ways to recycle and reuse the beautiful fabrics I pick up at markets around the country! I’ve recently learned how to transform unwanted tutus from my fellow performers into amazing new costumes - a wonderful example of repurposing and upcycling at its best! 🌎 ♻️
As for the future? I have a long, sparkling list of places I dream to explore, with a whole wardrobe full of pink tutus to go with each location. Who knows, maybe one day I'll even bring a little bit of my pink tutu magic to your doorstep. ✨ Until next time, keep your hearts open and your smiles big! ✨💖
