High Wycombe Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes Flight! 💖 🩰
Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and guess what? I'm in High Wycombe! It's been a whirlwind journey to get here, as usual, and my suitcase is crammed full of dazzling outfits, shimmering makeup, and a sparkly pink tutu just for the occasion! ✨
This is post number 9072, and I am absolutely thrilled to be sharing it with you from this delightful town in Buckinghamshire. If you haven't been, let me tell you, it's a charmer! There's a definite old-world charm to High Wycombe, but with a touch of modern sass that I just love.
And speaking of sass, it's been a mad dash from my lab, where by day I'm a serious fabric scientist. By night, I'm back to my real life passion: performing for all you wonderful peeps. Let me tell you, there's nothing quite like transforming into Pink Tutu Sparkles and spreading joy through a whirlwind of pink sequins, high kicks, and a whole lot of love! ❤️
This trip is all thanks to my fabulous gig at the High Wycombe Town Hall, and the journey there was an absolute dream! Now, you know I'm not afraid of a challenge, so I decided to travel by horse this time! 🐴 It was exhilarating, galloping through the countryside with the wind whipping through my pink feather boa!
Okay, okay, I didn't actually ride a horse the entire way! I did catch the train to London and then, because I wanted the quintessential "British train experience", I rode a charming vintage train, complete with quaint, old-fashioned carriages! I must say, it really transported me back in time. But, as the good folks at High Wycombe town hall, weren't able to accommodate a full size horse on the platform for me, my real trip into town was on a classic vintage red London double decker bus!
It seems a million years ago that my love for pink tutus began. I remember the precise moment when I was studying at uni. It was a charity event, a student ball. There were some very serious academics and I thought maybe I should try being a serious student too, I tried on a dusty pink tutu for the charity fashion show and felt, like, "that's my colour and my style," my real life self! That's when I knew my life had changed, well, at least the night time bits of it. I thought maybe the pink tutu was just for the night but then I began looking at the world differently, in more colour and I just loved performing, I knew this was my path. Now, here I am, years later, living my absolute best life as Pink Tutu Sparkles, travelling the UK spreading joy, glitter, and yes, a whole lot of pink! 💖
So, how was my gig at the Town Hall, you ask? Well, darlings, it was simply divine! They had put on an extravaganza for family and local families. The audiences were so wonderful and really appreciated my act. The High Wycombe Mayor even joined me onstage for a little jig! Talk about high-kicks! And I think we both helped to get everyone in the audience dancing too!
Afterwards, I couldn’t resist checking out some of High Wycombe's gems! This lovely town has a wonderful independent art scene and I was especially captivated by The Rye! This amazing green space was a breath of fresh air after my time in London, and the flower gardens were spectacular. I've added it to my list of "best outdoor performances" venues and I’m already dreaming up a spectacular pink tutu inspired routine for an open air show next year!
There's nothing better than strolling around and taking in the cultural heart of a place. I managed to slip into a couple of boutique shops in the town centre and found some truly stunning outfits – a sparkly gold bomber jacket and a feather boa the colour of a sunset – for my next show in Bath, which will be a complete change in style for me, and, of course, a couple of brand new pink tutus for when I perform on my tour next month in South Africa.
I must admit, even this seasoned travel veteran finds the train a tad wearying. After two hours of rushing around trying to find my train ticket on the phone whilst wearing a glittery gold handbag and bright pink cowboy boots in the middle of Waterloo Station - because you all know I had an accident and had lost my bag in a black cab which was filled with my wardrobe and it turned out I had left my luggage in the hotel - and then the train got cancelled so I had to buy a last minute seat and it meant I missed half of my favorite TV show, I decided to hire a chauffeur driven pink Cadillac!
After arriving at the hotel I couldn't resist a hot bath to help unwind from my train ordeal. It felt glorious, just what I needed! It gave me some quiet time for my usual night-time pampering ritual. Now, let's be honest, being Pink Tutu Sparkles isn’t just about the costumes and glitter, though I love those things with all my heart! It's also about staying strong, healthy, and feeling confident! And for that, I rely on a little secret weapon – a daily glass of hot water with a dash of pink Himalayan salt! I add a drop of rosehip oil to my face mask. And the bath oils, obviously, need to be pink. 💕
But what's even better than a relaxing evening is waking up to beautiful sunny skies and seeing this breathtaking view outside my window. Yes, High Wycombe, you are seriously beautiful, and you’ve certainly captured a place in my heart! This town is absolutely full of life! You could say I’m getting quite excited for my day in High Wycombe!
One of the main reasons I love High Wycombe so much is because of its ballet heritage, something that truly resonates with me as a huge ballet fan. I actually had to sneak off this morning, to avoid too much attention from all the crowds that came to see my show yesterday, to attend the High Wycombe Ballet Company’s class, they call it ‘Tutus on Tuesday!’. Oh, it's like heaven! There were graceful dancers from all walks of life spinning and twirling in beautiful, pastel pink, tutus and I was so happy to be amongst them. I really do love a good ballet class, and it’s been so inspirational. 🩰 I mean, you’ve gotta get out and about to have the experiences to share with your audience. And there’s no better experience for me than joining other performers at this local theatre school for their ‘Tutus on Tuesday’ class!
My travels may not always go according to plan, darlings, but they are filled with laughter, unforgettable memories, and the joy of sharing my passion for pink tutus and performing! My hope is that you, my dear readers, will feel inspired to wear your own pink tutu! Why not? It can be anything: pink tutu fashion, a trip to a ballet class, or a show where you can enjoy watching amazing performances from talented people! We can make it happen, one twirl at a time! 💖🩰
See you soon!
Lots of love and sparkles!
Pink Tutu Sparkles! ✨
