Hello darlings, and welcome back to www.pink-tutu.com! It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to regale you with tales of glitter, glamour, and oh, so many pink tutus.
This week, I had the absolute pleasure of traipsing down to Grantham, a little slice of history tucked away in Lincolnshire. You know me, always a fan of the quaint and charming! I must admit, it was an epic journey for your gal. As a true Tutu Queen, I adore travelling in style, and the journey itself was half the fun. First, a brisk train ride (a favourite travel mode for me, the calming rhythm of the rails is simply divine!) to Nottingham, where I jumped aboard the grand, galloping steeds of the 'Tutu Express' โ a beautifully decorated carriage complete with velvet seats, glittering chandeliers, and even a cheeky cup of bubbly on the side! This carriage is just a teensy bit over the top, don't you think?
Grantham's Glitz
Grantham itself was a whirlwind of pink-tastic adventures. It's not often I get to perform in a town steeped in history, especially with a magnificent Victorian building as my backdrop! The venue, a historic theatre named the Grantham Playhouse, was adorned with twinkling lights and posters advertising an array of fabulous shows, and for once, I was one of them! The feeling was electrifying, and I can honestly say my heart skipped a beat as I heard the first cheers from the audience.
As for the performance itself โ well, I must say it was unforgettable! The crowds were phenomenal, a symphony of hoots, hollers, and a fair bit of excited squealing, and I gave 'em everything I had. This particular performance was extra special โ a delightful blend of my signature 'Sparkly Serenade' (that's where I grace the stage with my pink tutu, singing about the beauty of life in the most magnificent high-pitched voice, complete with shimmering glitter cannon!), alongside a brand new song, a cheeky number about the art of tea brewing, entitled 'The Perfect Brew'. Trust me, it was a total crowd-pleaser. It's a little something I learnt during a rather glamorous train journey!
Gingham Gardens and Granny Smith Apples
Speaking of trains, I simply had to indulge in a proper afternoon tea with all the trimmings - a must-do in Grantham. Picture it: delicate sandwiches, buttery scones, a delicious selection of cakes and a generous serving of pink tea (with a cheeky touch of pink sparkly edible glitter).
Before leaving, I took a leisurely stroll through Grantham's Botanical Gardens. This place was just heavenly! Lush green lawns, colourful blooms in full glory and a most wonderful greenhouse brimming with fragrant tropical plants.
My last stop in Grantham was at the most delightful farm shop. Not your typical supermarket โ think freshly baked cakes, juicy plums and delicious granny smith apples (the perfect treat for a ballet girl on the go!).
My Pink Tutu Journey
The entire Grantham escapade was truly a Tutu-tastic experience. Now, you might wonder how someone like me, a simple scientist by day, can afford such lavish travel and shows. Well, my dearest, I make it work! Performing as Pink Tutu Sparkles allows me to fulfil my creative ambitions. I put on a show wherever I can - at local fairs, festivals, and even birthday parties! People say I have an amazing energy that radiates, and you know, sometimes the biggest thrill is performing for a family audience of ten people! The excitement they bring is absolutely contagious!
And speaking of excitement, I have an exciting announcement โ the world needs more pink tutus! As a Tutu Queen on a mission, Iโm setting up my very own pink tutu workshops across the country! Want to learn how to twirl and sparkle? We're talking glitter, glamour and of course, an awful lot of pink. Join me for a day of fun, laughter and a whole lot of tutu magic.
But now, darlings, I must bid you adieu for now, but rest assured, you will find me prancing around on a stage near you. Keep checking back to www.pink-tutu.com. Remember: a day without a sprinkle of pink is a day poorly spent. Until next time, darlings.
