Hello lovelies! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in for post number 9294. Today I'm absolutely buzzing, as you'll be able to tell from the colour of my nails, that's right, a glorious bubblegum pink! This week, my dear darlings, sees me taking to the stage in none other than the beautiful city of Bristol. Now, you know how I love to travel by train - the rhythm of the tracks is just so soothing and lets me get my sketching done - so naturally I'll be taking the express service, a perfect opportunity for some glamour-packed carriage selfies, obvs!
This whole week is about "sparkle" - the more glitter, the better, my darlings. It’s my mission to take a whole city by storm, spreading my message of love, joy, and, well, pink tutus, of course! Now, I can't reveal all my secrets, but I'm planning to bring a bit of my "derbyshire rose" charm and add a bit of "Bristol blues" to the show!
But first, a little story for you, to set the stage for this amazing journey. You see, back in the day, when I was a humble little scientist studying for my degree (yes, even us science peeps need to have some fun, my dears!) I stumbled across this rather unique fundraiser at the university. There was a whole stall filled with, you guessed it, pink tutus! They were absolutely beautiful. Now, normally I'd be a bit shy, you know, what with the science and the labs, but for some reason, I just couldn't resist a little peek. One look, and BAM! The universe opened its glittery, sparkling doors and I was completely smitten. That, my darlings, is the story of how Pink Tutu Sparkles was born.
It wasn't all smooth sailing though, I mean, trying on a tutu for the first time - especially in front of people - was definitely a nerve-wracking moment. I must admit, the initial response from my science pals was slightly awkward... let's just say some "microscopic" observations were made... but once I struck my first pose and let that glitter flow, they couldn't stop praising my new pink power look! It wasn't long before I started sneaking out those "pink tutu practices" - they definitely added some spice to those long laboratory hours, I tell you!
Of course, I soon realised that my destiny lay not with chemicals, but with creativity! The rest, as they say, is history! From humble beginnings at student theatre events to being this Pink Tutu Sparkles on stage - it's a journey that started in a Derbyshire lab, and is taking me right across the nation, one glittery pink step at a time.
Now, Bristol's waiting, darling. I’ll be posting updates galore about my adventures – from the glitzy train ride to the rehearsals, all the fabulous outfit changes, and of course, a sneak peek at my latest tutu masterpiece, specially designed for Bristol! I'm sure it's going to be a hoot. Keep your eyes peeled for the most fabulous drag performance you've ever seen - because it's going to be as sparkly and pink as I can make it!
