Right, let's talk Sutton in Ashfield! ? It was the most beautiful sunny day, and I had to be decked out in my new pink polka-dot tulle creation. ? You know, my signature pink tutu was feeling a little tired, so I needed a fresh, cheerful new look to match the happy day! ?
So, train tracks to Sutton, here we are! Now, I have to tell you, this train journey was divine! A beautiful countryside backdrop, gentle music playing in the carriage, and even a lovely gentleman in a bright pink tie sharing a bag of sherbet lemons with me. It's amazing how even the smallest details can create the biggest smiles, isn't it? ?
Sutton in Ashfield turned out to be a lovely surprise. There's this amazing market, with all sorts of lovely, unique stalls. ?? I absolutely adore exploring markets – you can find the most quirky and creative things, not to mention yummy treats! ? I picked up a gorgeous pink hand-painted pottery teapot, which now sits proudly on my dresser back at home, looking positively glamorous! ☕
Then there's the Sutton Museum! History buffs, you're in for a treat! It's packed with fascinating local tales, from the coal-mining heritage to the rich textile industry, and the museum is beautifully laid out, like a giant dollhouse filled with trinkets from the past! And, if I'm honest, there was a lovely little corner dedicated to local costume history that had the most exquisite vintage dresses! ? The kind that makes you daydream about swirling around a ballroom, twirling in a shimmering, floor-length gown. ?
After that dose of culture, it was time to treat myself! I popped into a lovely little cafe that served the best cream tea ever! ?☕ It was one of those charming little spots, full of warmth and that delightful scent of fresh cakes, and a lovely lady dressed in a beautiful, colourful floral print served me the most perfect cup of tea. Honestly, I swear, it tasted like happiness in a mug! ?
You'd think that with the market and museum and cream tea, my day in Sutton would be done, but no, dear Tutu Queens! That evening, I was invited to perform at the local arts centre! ?✨ The stage was set for an audience full of eager tutu fans. You know how much I love to twerk it on stage! I had the most fabulous time, sharing some of my newest ballet routines, a touch of jazz, and, of course, some classic lip-syncing! ? I'm so happy that I could share my love of dance with them!
The day concluded with a beautiful walk through the charming streets of Sutton. The town has a wonderful little square with a bandstand that plays traditional music on Friday nights. I had the best time swaying to the tunes, dancing alongside the locals! It's so amazing how music can bring everyone together, wouldn't you say? ??
