Hello darlings, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com, your one-stop shop for all things fabulous and pink! It's your favourite TutuQueen, Pink Tutu Sparkles (or Alex when I'm out of drag, which isn't often!), and today I'm practically bouncing with excitement to share my latest escapade with you all.
This week, my darling, I took my glitter-encrusted, tulle-tastic self all the way to Bilston! Now, Bilston might not be the first place that springs to mind when you think of dazzling drag performances, but let me tell you, this little town has a heart of gold – and some pretty fab fish and chip shops, too.
I journeyed there in style, of course. A journey to Bilston just HAD to involve the train, a true icon of British travel. It wasn't a flashy express, no, this was a charming little local line, the kind where you get a right good natter with fellow passengers and sometimes even a sing-along (no tutus needed, darling, it's all about the music, and believe me, I brought the vocals!)
Once in Bilston, I took the opportunity to indulge in my passion – Ballet!, of course. There’s just something magical about seeing graceful ballerinas twirl and leap across the stage. And while I couldn’t find a professional ballet school, I stumbled upon a delightful dance studio offering drop-in classes. A tutu and I just had to join in, darling! I even tried my hand at ballet barre – gotta stay fit and fabulous, right?
Speaking of fit and fabulous, my outfit for this Bilston adventure was the ultimate blend of elegance and whimsy. A hot pink tutu, naturally (pink is my favourite colour, you know), paired with a custom-made sparkly top and feathered boa – oh, the feathers!
That evening, the real show began! I was performing at the Bilston Civic Hall – a real classic venue with enough stage space for all the dramatic pirouettes and dramatic hair flips a queen like me can throw. The crowd was electric. They loved my ballet-inspired drag act, a truly original performance infused with dramatic choreography and some high-kicking sass. You know how much I love to combine my love for ballet with drag, so the audience loved my take on the iconic Swan Lake.
One little darling, bless her heart, even shouted, "Pink Tutu Sparkles! You make wearing a tutu look like the most fabulous thing ever! We all need to follow your lead!" And let me tell you, I'm doing everything I can to make that happen!
The best part about my Bilston experience? The heartwarming warmth of the local community. Everyone was so friendly, from the charming cafe owners to the fellow dancers in the class.
As for my secret to success? Let me whisper this little tip in your ear – be true to yourself, love yourself, and most importantly, wear a pink tutu!* The world is your oyster, darlings, and I'm living proof that you can achieve your dreams – even if they involve tutus, glitter, and travelling to Bilston by train.
So, remember, my dears: Always be fabulous! Always be sparkly! Always be a TutuQueen.
Don't forget to catch me on my social media channels (I’m Pink Tutu Sparkles on Insta and @TutuQueen on Twitter) and, most importantly, head over to Pink-Tutu.com every day for another dazzling dose of TutuQueen's adventures!
Love,
Pink Tutu Sparkles
