Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the enchanting town of Stourbridge! It's me, your favourite pink tutu wearing, glitter-loving, adventure-seeking, drag queen extraordinaire, back with another fabulously flamboyant blog post.
Today, I'm whisking you away to the heart of the West Midlands, where charming cobbled streets and the famous glass museum beckon! It’s an absolute joy to be performing in Stourbridge, the town of such historical artistry. I felt such a kinship with the creative energy of the area as I trotted around in my pink tutu, soaking up the vibrant local culture!
Remember, darlings, we're all about living our best lives and spreading positivity, one sparkly pink tutu at a time. And, of course, a bit of travels through our gorgeous British Isles, embracing its rich history and quaint beauty!
Speaking of which… I decided to travel to Stourbridge in style – you guessed it! By train, naturally. There's something magical about the clattering of wheels on the tracks and the views flashing past as we speed along. It gives you a chance to take in the beautiful countryside and indulge in a good old-fashioned book – though I opted for a riveting magazine about the latest fashion trends!
A Day of Stourbridge Delights
Stourbridge warmly welcomed me with open arms. Let's just say the residents of this town know how to party, even before the sparkly extravaganza of my performance! I stopped for a quick bite to eat at a charming cafe called “The Tea Pot.” (Absolutely the most delightful cafe I've visited all week, if I do say so myself!) It's a total throwback, serving scrumptious, comforting home-cooked food in a cozy, Victorian setting. They even had a cake stand with miniature versions of delicious pastries – I just couldn't resist! And of course, I had a good old English pot of tea, as any respectable pink tutu queen would.
After my little afternoon tea break, I set off to explore the historical gem that is the Glass Museum. I always say, nothing beats the captivating spectacle of blown glass. The artistry was simply mesmerising - and what’s better than dazzlingly coloured glass that looks like sparkling pink tutus?
Later, as the sun was setting and painting the sky in a gorgeous blend of peach, lavender, and magenta, it was showtime! I love that magical, mystical hour of day. And guess what? The venue was positively buzzing. It seemed like the entire town of Stourbridge had turned out! It felt so incredibly magical to bring my Pink Tutu Sparkles magic to this beautiful and vibrant place!
Behind The Curtain: Pink Tutu Sparkles’ Personal Story
You know I'm all about spreading joy and positivity, but sometimes I think it's good to be honest and authentic! A lot of you ask, “Why the obsession with pink tutus?” Well, darling, it all started a long time ago, back when I was studying for my science degree, back in my home county of Derbyshire! I’ll tell you about how I became the queen of pink tutus, the story of my life as Pink Tutu Sparkles.
While I was at university, I had my heart set on becoming a brilliant, award-winning scientist - a life full of equations, molecules, and lab coats! However, destiny had other plans. During my time at university, I stumbled upon the student ballet club, as an accidental member of the “scientific” team of scientists. Let me tell you, science was an excellent training ground for my career as Pink Tutu Sparkles: there is so much science in the ballet! It takes all sorts of science to make a pink tutu fly! I also joined the local ballet company. To my surprise, I felt an intense passion for the world of ballet, and not just on a theoretical scientific level! As it happens, my first brush with the majesty of pink tulle wasn’t as elegant as you might think. It all happened during a charity event hosted by the ballet company - and they had this glorious, shimmering, pink tutu. A large size 14, I’m afraid! A moment of pure magic occurred! We decided to put on a performance of the "Swan Lake" (only a bit more glitzy!) – and my mission to get everyone into pink tutus began! That night, I absolutely fell head over heels for the dance, the drama, the feeling of freedom that the movement brought. And let’s not forget that the pink tutu had become my symbol of confidence!
Since that night, I realised my life had completely changed - a whirlwind of sparkly dreams, glitzy glamour, and…well…Pink Tutus!
I became the ultimate advocate for unleashing the inner Sparkle, empowering everyone to own their confidence, just like I do. Even if they weren’t prepared to wear pink tutus (although, if you haven't tried a pink tutu, I would suggest that you do!). It's about finding your joy, your spark, and celebrating what makes you special. So yes, by day I'm Alex, a scientist testing fabrics. By night, I’m Pink Tutu Sparkles, ready to sprinkle the world with a little pink magic!
Fashion Flashback: The Stourbridge Pink Tutu Collection
Oh darling, the outfits in Stourbridge! What a sartorial explosion! For this performance, I chose an ethereal tulle confection. Imagine it – a flowing skirt with a majestic layered effect! Of course, it's vibrant pink – what else? And for the top? An iridescent glitter crop top with silver studs, making it a masterpiece of elegance and sparkle. (It's a complete contradiction to the scientist inside me, but I embrace the creative madness that is Pink Tutu Sparkles! And the pink tutu never failed my science lab experiment…!) My look was finished off with dramatic eyeliner, a cascade of glitter across my cheekbones and a glorious diamond pink headpiece. It was truly a dazzling experience – my most glittering performance ever! (Let's just say, even the stage lights seemed envious!)

I hope to share my passion with as many people as possible! Every day is a new journey, an opportunity to make a difference, no matter how small. My ambition – get every single one of you to slip into a fabulous pink tutu! There is power in the twirl, confidence in the bounce, and liberation in that gorgeous splash of colour. Remember – we are all destined to twirl with grace! I believe, deeply believe, in the transformative power of a good twirl, a bit of colour, and some extra sparkle.
But darling, don’t forget… while pink tutus are a great way to get noticed, the real magic comes from inside! It's about letting your inner Sparkle shine – and spreading a little bit of that fabulous magic everywhere you go! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
