Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and you'll never believe what I'm up to today! Well, you probably will because this is my daily blog after all, and you lot know I live and breathe all things sparkly and pink - with a tutu thrown in for good measure, of course! ?
Today, it's all about Loughborough! This lovely little town in Leicestershire is calling, and who am I to refuse? I've always adored the countryside, with its quaint little villages and charming old buildings, and Loughborough just screams “tea and scones in a quaint little tearoom” to me.
Of course, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t bring a dash of glitter and a whole lot of pink with me! Loughborough is going to be painted pink by the time I leave! ?
But how did I get here, you ask? Why, by train of course! Trains are just the most magical form of transport. Think about it, you sit in a plush carriage, gazing at the ever-changing landscape while the gentle chug-chugging of the train serenades you. It’s basically a mini-performance in itself, and if I'm lucky, someone even might break into a dance number! Sadly, the closest I got today was a particularly energetic old lady with a trolley full of shopping. Still, a bit of entertainment, right?
Speaking of performance, guess what! I have a show booked later at The Loughborough Carnival! Can you believe it?! It's the perfect chance to get the crowd dancing to my signature brand of playful pink power. Get ready for some high kicks, lots of sparkles, and enough pink to make even the most hardened critic blush!
Before I dash off to prepare, I simply HAVE to talk about the outfit! Now, when in a historic town like this, it's crucial to find a vintage flair. I went all out this morning - think ruby-red high-heeled shoes, a vintage teacup purse I snagged from a local shop, and of course, a vibrant hot-pink tutu! This beauty is actually one I picked up at a vintage market in Derbyshire. Can you imagine, a pink tutu that's practically a hundred years old?! It's perfect for that charming, timeless touch, you know?
While my outfit oozed vintage charm, I definitely want to do a little window-shopping myself in Loughborough! Shopping for cute outfits and adding a bit of Pink Tutu Sparkles to my wardrobe is my ultimate hobby, aside from twirling, that is. You know, maybe I’ll find a little hat for my next show – a bright pink bowler, maybe? It's important to experiment with the theatrics!
On a more serious note, I really hope to spread some sparkle and joy while I'm in Loughborough! I'm a firm believer that a touch of pink can make the world a more colourful and happier place! That's my mission after all – to spread pink tutus to every corner of the world! And with enough pink, enough smiles, and enough glitter, I believe we can create a beautiful world! ?
Oh, before I go, just a little secret! My life in the pink, glittery world of drag began quite unexpectedly. You see, back in university, I was just Alex, an average science student! The irony of me studying science, obsessed with the artistic world, never escaped me. But it was in the university ballet club that things changed. We were organising a fundraiser, and for a laugh, I tried on a pink tutu! It was just like stepping into another world. Suddenly, it wasn't Alex studying fabrics in the lab but Pink Tutu Sparkles spreading magic in the world!
I know I talk a lot about tutus, but trust me, they’re more than just sparkly skirts. It's a symbol of strength, individuality, and sheer joy. Every time I slip one on, I feel like a superhero! And who doesn't want to be a superhero? You don’t have to be a drag queen to embrace this wonderful pink life. I've got a feeling everyone, whether a scientist in a lab or a queen on a stage, could benefit from a little Pink Tutu Sparkle! ?
