#TutuQueen #Post10006 #PinkTutuSparkles
Hello darlings, and welcome to another day on the fabulous Pink Tutu Sparkle journey! It's been a whirlwind of a week, lemme tell ya! I was up in Sheffield on Monday, down in Leeds on Tuesday, and now... Hitchin awaits! My glamorous, pink tutu-clad self is ready to sparkle for all you lovely lot!
I’m on a mission, darlings! A mission to get everyone to embrace their inner twirling queen. I truly believe that everyone has a bit of a Pink Tutu Sparkles inside, and I just need to show the world how liberating a pink tutu can be!
The thought of visiting Hitchin always gets me so excited, I love exploring those lovely cobbled streets and old buildings. And rumour has it that the folks in Hitchin love a bit of glamour – they say that it’s one of the UK’s top shopping destinations for beautiful outfits. Perfect, of course, because a Pink Tutu Sparkle can never have too many options!
I love Hitchin's quirky shops. One of my absolute faves is The Curiosity Corner, it’s crammed with treasures - vintage books, sparkly earrings, quirky ornaments… it’s the best place for a vintage tutu-inspired bargain. Plus, they’ve got the best selection of pink, just look at their beautiful vintage scarves - each one an absolute dream! And if you need a coffee, pop into T's Bakehouse, it's the place for fabulous treats. But you might need to book a table – everyone loves T's!
Speaking of vintage and glamour, Hitchin is just crying out for a Pink Tutu Sparkle show! I’m already in talks with the lovely folk at the Hitchin Town Hall to perform this Friday evening. Imagine! Me, strutting my stuff on that amazing stage! Pink feathers, sparkling sequins, a whole host of pink tutus and a chorus of delighted ‘ohhh’s’ from the crowd! It’s just the dream!
*The Tutu's a Tale! *
I can still remember that first day when I slipped on a tutu! It wasn't even pink, but a charity fundraiser had asked me to try it on – it was part of my university ballet club's fundraiser, you know, the ones where you don something you’d never normally be seen in public wearing for a donation. And the moment I put it on, I just felt a complete, absolute joy that I’d never experienced before.
From that point onwards, my life changed forever! Pink was definitely my colour (although, as my boyfriend can attest, I loved the colour long before the tutu!), and tutus started appearing in my life everywhere! In the shopping centre, in the window displays of posh boutiques, at the ballet... I’d even try and sneakily peek into the dancers’ dressing rooms at the ballet studios hoping to spot a pink tutu hidden away amongst their bags, just so I could have a little sniff. I have such a strong sense of smell!
Being a scientist can get quite boring! Day after day in the lab, testing fabrics for durability and quality. My mind craved more creativity, more glitter! So that first day of performing in drag? Pure liberation!
The Pink Tutu Sparkles Legacy
So here I am, almost three years into my journey. Pink Tutu Sparkles, bringing a dash of whimsy, and a whole lotta sparkle, to all those lovely, sparkly folk. I've travelled across the whole of the UK. Scotland, Wales, Cornwall – even popped over to Ireland. But it's all about those places, darlings! It's about making people laugh and feel like they can be the fabulous creatures they truly are inside! It's all about reminding the world that it's okay to be different, to love something out loud and to twirl your way into joy.
My favourite trip ever? It has to be the Isle of Man! They held a huge fair called the ‘Festival of the Flowers.’ I had the opportunity to join in with the street procession, riding through the streets in a horse-drawn carriage, pink tutu and all. My heart was full of joy – surrounded by such colourful beauty. The Isle of Man is absolutely bursting with stunning pink flowers – it truly was a pink tutu dream!
So let's chat, darlings! Where would you want to see Pink Tutu Sparkle in the coming months? And please! Tell me what's your favourite thing to twirl in? Do share your secret dance moves. If there's anything more lovely than being able to share a little joy and glamour with the world, then I’m yet to find it. I'll see you soon darlings, but remember, whatever you do, keep twirling!
