Bangor’s Tutu Tuesday: A whirlwind of frills and sequins #tututuesday

Okay, let's be real. Tutu Tuesday is officially the best day of the week, and you're not gonna find me saying otherwise. It's like a magic spell is cast over the city - the moment the clock strikes 9am, everybody knows what's up. Even the pigeons in the park are strutting their stuff in their best 'peacock' moves.

As the queen of sequins and tutus, this is the day where Bangor truly shines! Think Flashdance meets Saturday Night Fever on a Tuesday. The vibe is contagious. You’ll see the girls rocking up in all kinds of fabulous tutus: the classic poetic ones, the puffy romantic tutu, and of course my absolute fav - the sparkly and extravagant showstopper. Don’t even get me started on the pastel shades... dreamy shades of pink (like my personal fav colour!)... a whole riot of fun is in the air!

One of the things I love the most about Bangor’s #tututuesday is the community spirit. It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned dance pro like me or just a newbie trying your best ‘plié’ , you'll get welcomed with open arms (or should I say, open twirls?). This is a day to celebrate our love of everything twirly and fabulous. The energy is so electric, the smiles are so bright – it just lifts your spirits instantly!

But the real #discodolphin of the day is, without a doubt, the legendary Disco Diner on High Street! Every Tuesday, the owners throw the most epic, glitzy breakfast buffet – imagine disco balls, pink flamingoes and delicious food. Think pancakes, waffles, a smoothie bar… and to top it off – everything is topped with shimmering sugar crystals and sparkles. They've definitely taken the whole #tututuesday thing to the next level!

We don’t stop at the disco diner! In the afternoon, it’s all about hitting the Bangor Art Center for their Tutu Tuesday event – this month it's all about dance inspired sculptures with a live performance by a breakdancing troupe! Talk about a fusion of art, culture and, of course, #tututuesday .

The day winds down with a trip to the local pub. On a Tuesday evening in Bangor, you'll find every corner transformed into a dancing space. And I'm talking about dancing the 'Charleston' to a whole new level – imagine pink champagne bubbles, sparkly chandeliers, a live jazz band, and, of course, everyone’s dancing in their favourite tutus. Now you’re feeling the spirit of Bangor’s #tututuesday, right?

The amazing community spirit makes Bangor’s #tututuesday unforgettable! You know I'm biased towards anything that twirls (especially in a beautiful tutu!), but Bangor’s Tutu Tuesday has been the inspiration behind my latest dance routine, inspired by all the colour, joy and life – and it’s dedicated to my favourite #discodolphin. Let’s just say you’re going to want to get ready to twirl.
