Bletchley Tutu Tuesday: Let's Get Disco-tastic!
Hello my gorgeous fellow tutu lovers! It’s your girl, Ellie, here, ready to get this Tutu Tuesday started with a sprinkle of pink, a whole lot of disco beats, and, of course, some serious tutus! #tututuesday
Now, I’m not gonna lie, the idea of wearing a tutu to work – well, technically my freelance ballet coaching gigs in this cute little town – was a little nerve-wracking at first. Would it be a bit too much? Too "out there?" But you know what? I'm all about shaking things up and embracing a little bit of sparkle in life. And let's be real, what could be more iconic than a tutu?
I went for my go-to - my pink, tiered, romantic tulle tutu. It's perfect for twirling, flowing, and feeling like a delicate, graceful ballerina. (Ok, I admit I also wear it on my errands because, well, I think it’s fab, and no one can tell me otherwise!).
Bletchley may not be the first place that comes to mind for a fashion extravaganza, but, hey, we can have fun with it. Imagine - a sprinkle of ballerina magic in a town filled with traditional red brick houses.
Now, a "disco tutu" - that’s my new hashtag #discotutudream for Tutu Tuesday. I envision it as bold and vibrant – maybe a sequined tutu or one that just sparkles a million ways! I've always been a sucker for all things glitzy and glamorous. But there’s a whole spectrum of tutus! We could do a tutu with fringe! Maybe a poofy, super-short tutu that shows off some seriously cool boots? There are even some tutus made from stretchy fabrics – perfect for moving and grooving, even if it's just your morning commute.
As the saying goes, life's too short to be boring! That’s where Bletchley and #tututuesday comes in, giving everyone an excuse to get out there, feel confident and shine bright like the disco ball.
Now let’s talk about music – a key part of any #tututuesday adventure. I’ve always loved disco – Donna Summer, The Bee Gees, and even Diana Ross. This vibe totally fits with a disco-tastic tutu! If you really wanna bring it, you could try one of the retro dance playlists on Spotify. (Check out my fave - #discodolphin). A danceable mix to take us right back to the disco era - the shiny suits, the platforms and the dance floors. You might just find yourself dancing in your favourite café (just be warned that it might turn some heads.)
I also have to give a shoutout to the little guys in this dance adventure – our lovely dolphins. As I write this, the adorable little dolphins at Bletchley's Wildlife Park are doing their best underwater choreography as they playfully zoom around their habitat. Maybe we can inspire a new #discodolphin hashtag! Just think - dolphins performing underwater routines in sync with our disco tutus! Imagine that dance floor - pure joy.
