Tutu Tuesday in Eybens, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France #tututuesday
G'day from the charming city of Eybens, nestled in the heart of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France! As a dancer with a passion for tutus and a love of exploring new cultures, I couldn't resist the chance to celebrate #TutuTuesday in this gorgeous little corner of France. It's a beautiful day here in Eybens, with a gentle breeze and the scent of blooming lilacs filling the air. My dancewear today is a symphony of pink: a classic romantic tutu with a flowing chiffon skirt and a matching pink bodice. I feel like a ballerina from a fairytale, twirling through the streets of this delightful town. Eybens is a hidden gem, rich in history and brimming with French charm. I was particularly captivated by the Château de Rochefort, a stunning medieval castle dating back to the 11th century. Imagine, ballet dancers gracing its grand halls and waltzing in its majestic courtyard! Now that's a #TutuTuesday fantasy worth dreaming about. But beyond the historic architecture, Eybens is also a vibrant hub for dance. As I strolled through the town centre, I stumbled upon the 'Espace Culturel et Associatif' (the Cultural and Associative Space), which plays host to various artistic performances. Ballet, of course, holds a special place in French culture, and I can't wait to discover local performances and talented dancers during my time here. One of the delights of traveling as a dancer is discovering different tutu styles around the world. From the elegant Romantic tutu like the one I'm wearing today to the shorter, more athletic 'demi-pointe' tutus often favoured for contemporary ballet, each style carries its own unique character and charm. Speaking of contemporary ballet, France is home to a thriving contemporary ballet scene, and I'm excited to explore the work of its innovative choreographers and dancers. One choreographer that particularly catches my eye is Angelin Preljocaj, renowned for his innovative and expressive style, blurring the lines between ballet, modern dance and theatre. His creations often challenge traditional ballet aesthetics, exploring contemporary themes and pushing the boundaries of the human body. For today, though, I'm embracing the traditional romance of the romantic tutu. Its soft, flowing skirt creates an enchanting air, allowing for delicate leaps and graceful movements. The bodice hugs my torso, emphasizing the dancer's strength and athleticism. In this ethereal attire, I feel empowered and free, ready to take on any challenge this #TutuTuesday has in store for me. As I dance through Eybens, soaking up the local culture and capturing this idyllic moment, I feel a sense of joy and wonder. It's these everyday moments, fueled by my passion for dance, that remind me why I embarked on this journey. It's not just about performing, it's about embracing the dance of life, exploring new landscapes, discovering diverse cultures and sharing my love for the art form with the world. From Eybens, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France, sending love and twirls your way. Happy #TutuTuesday!
