Tutu Tuesday in Fosses-la-Ferrière, Île-de-France, France #tututuesday

G'day lovelies! It's your gal, Millie, here, straight from the cobbled streets of Fosses-la-Ferrière, Île-de-France, France. I'm just popping in for a quick #TutuTuesday chat – and lemme tell ya, it's been a right royal adventure.

As you know, I've always had a thing for tutus. The way they swish, the way they twirl, the way they make you feel like a fairytale princess! It’s all about expressing that inner ballerina and I'm here to say, this little town in the heart of France, it knows how to tutu-licious.

Now, for a real dose of French charm, think cobblestone streets, pastel-colored houses, and a village square that whispers history with every step. Imagine me, standing in the middle of it all, twirling in a perfectly-fitting, perfectly-pastel, Romantic-era tutu. My tutu, it was a cloud of pale pink and whispery layers, just like something straight outta Swan Lake. I can't get over it - this Parisian-tastic piece of sartorial elegance is a total head-turner!

Speaking of head-turners, you wouldn’t believe the local ballet scene. These guys and gals are incredible. Like, I swear, they are on another level of skill. I've been taking lessons at the "Centre Culturel de Fosses" - a proper little ballet gem! The instructors are all former professionals, which gives you a good feel of the "serious" side of dance. It’s a big contrast to my more ‘happy go lucky’ approach to tutus - but I'm really loving this side of the French dance scene. Even with all the discipline, it's still seriously inspiring and it makes me wanna put in the work too.

Anyway, my French dance adventure isn't just about the ballet itself. It's about those amazing outfits. For example, did you know that the 'tutu à la Française' (French tutu), is all about layers and intricate detailing. This one was pretty much the quintessential image of French dance. So romantic. It's not your average, straight-up, classic ballet style either! The locals love a bit of French style. The ‘tutu à la Française’, it adds that signature chic element. Even my new fave local, Chantal, a stunning septuagenarian and lifelong ballerine, is constantly looking for inspiration for new tutu looks. Talk about embracing life's curveballs - she even managed to slip a tulle boa into her costume yesterday at the 'Les Arts' class. She reckons you need that bit of extra flare when your over 70! The woman is a legend!

I also managed to get my hands on some traditional French ballet shoes at the "Le Cordon Bleu". They're a beautiful burgundy shade and are surprisingly comfy for dance shoes. The leather is amazing – soft, buttery smooth. You can see and feel the real craftsmanship.

While I was in the area I took the time to visit the Château de Fosses. That castle, it's got its own kind of magic. Built back in the Middle Ages, it's this gorgeous stone masterpiece surrounded by a moat – the quintessential fairytale castle. Now, they say King Louis XIII, one of the granddaddies of French monarchy, hung out there back in the day! This part of Île-de-France has been home to so many royal and influential figures through the years – what a history lesson, I tells ya. I can't even begin to imagine all the tales the castle walls have witnessed!

But back to the tutus! Honestly, Fosses-la-Ferrière has been the ultimate #TutuTuesday treat! You’ll have to wait and see if it comes anywhere close to the next place I’m venturing to on my ballet odyssey - I’m heading off to a cute little village near Tours tomorrow – keep your eyes peeled! Au revoir for now, but make sure to follow along for more tutu adventures, fashion tips, and stories about this enchanting, oh so inspiring French ballet adventure!

Love ya,

Millie
